Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about how our yoga practice spills over into our everyday lives, especially with a collective growing focus on sustainability. It’s been incredible to see how “Ahimsa”〰️ which means non-violence in Sanskrit 〰️has become a guiding principle in the yoga community, not just in our actions but also in the products we choose.
When I first rolled out my yoga mat, I didn’t really consider its environmental impact. But as I became more aware of my ecological footprint, I realised how crucial it is to use sustainable yoga mats. These eco-friendly mats are more than just a way to avoid harmful chemicals 〰️ they’re a step toward a healthier planet.
Switching to a sustainable yoga mat has been a real game-changer for me and became the seed for the idea of Azul. Practicing on a mat that supports my commitment to a more sustainable earth feels in alignment with my values. Plus, these mats are super durable and comfortable, making every pose feel even better, while the mat itself lasts on average up to 5 years longer than a cheap, toxic mat. 🙅🏽♀️
The concept of Ahimsa doesn’t stop at yoga mats, though. It extends to all the products we use daily. From our food, to skin care and what we wear. By choosing items that are kind to the planet, we practice non-violence toward the Earth and all its inhabitants. It’s about making conscious choices that align with our inner beliefs and have a positive impact on the world around us.
If you’re as passionate about yoga and the environment as I am, this small change can make a big difference. Join me in this journey of mindful living and let’s inspire each other to create a healthier, more sustainable future.
