Visited the Untether Gallery at Geelong today for the opening of the Worn exhibition. My handwoven coat is part of this interesting exhibition. Woven with polwarth, alpaca and cotton. Lined with eco printed silk.

I saw a photo 12 months ago of an interesting jumper. Couldn’t be bought and there was no pattern- it wasn’t hand knitted.
I started spinning a 4 ply cable yarn -one dark natural, one light, one strong purple and one bright gold. While spinning I thought about how it could be knitted,
There was plenty of unknitting but it has paid off! It is nearly dry and will soon to be ready to wear. I love it.

Taking this to Bendigo Artisans Fibre Fair at the North Bendigo Bowling Club July 18-20th.

This coat is a kimono style. It has been woven with polwarth yarn with some art yarns for interest.
