Last days are always a mix of emotions - relief, sadness, joy, nostalgia, hope and a little heartache.
This is our day today.
Today we bid farewell to the loyal customers of our store who have supported us during the past six years. We have shared your journeys, heartache and milestones. We have laughed and shared sadness over books old and new. We have sipped champagne and met authors who have inspired us. What memories!💜
This journey could not be possible without our incredible staff, past and present. Our heartfelt thanks and best wishes to Lisa Coulson, Olivia Norris, Zsofia Molnar, Andrea Shaw, Jayne Weatherly, Katherine Tatterson, Di Collins, Julie Landon, Jamie Kendal, Lucy Staple, Sophie Higgins, Katelyn Manning, Jess Ingle and juniors Carys, Mia, Jackson, Bailey, Samantha and so many more juniors over the years.
We want to especially acknowledge and thank the team at Libraries (Sale), they are such dedicated group of people and we have loved partnering with them for our many author events. The library team have consistently supported the store and we are truly grateful.
Thank you to the schools especially Grammar, College, , for their continued support of local business. Also to the many kindergartens (too many to list) who choose to shop locally - this decision makes a world of difference to your community.
To our team at HO thank you for your support during the years, and the beautiful flowers delivered this morning🥰.
To our colleagues who work in Collins Bookstores around the country, we will miss you terribly - but we are planning to visit as we travel around Australia, so lookout for when we call in to say hello. You are all such amazing people and we wish you every success.
Finally, but most importantly, to our families and friends who have been on this journey from its first day, back in 2020, to today -we simply couldn't have done it without your love and support (and wine!).
Sale is blessed to be keeping its beloved bookstore - I implore you all to shop local, read widely, go the author events and ensure Collins Booksellers Sale stays open for the long term.
