It’s a beautiful sunny spring afternoon- and I have been enjoying working on my second Iris hat in my garden. I love a hat-as-a-swatch - and am using these projects to get my soon to be cast on Iris sweater just right. I’m using the yarn called for - Holst garn - now available in our shop - and it’s been a great way to familiarise myself with this lovely yarn’s qualities and to get useful information about gauge etc for my jumper.
I will easily get two large-size hats out of the yarn, and you could absolutely get more if you were prepared to move the colours around a little. One will be for me to match my jumper, and the other a gift for my kiddo. This makes a pretty economical and useful kind of swatch in my book.

Yarn - Holst garn Supersoft in colours Bleached White, Nougat, Goldcrest, Cinnamon, Maize, Pebble, Marlin and Topaz
I am really looking forward to casting in the jumper!

When the weather outside is wild, the temptation to work (aka cast on) on something snuggly is strong.
I’ve been mulling over colour choices for the Old Compass Sweater by . I want a vintage style vibe & have been trying to nut this collection down to just 5 shades.

Except I can’t. I love them all. So I’m just gonna go with all of these.
I have a plan.

We’ll soon see if it’s a crazy one 😆

We’ve updated our stocks of Holst Garn Supersoft in the shop - and have added a whole lot of new shades as well for you to choose from.

The colours of this yarn are all so gorgeous, and if you’re struggling to decide we also have shade cards available as well.

If you’re anything like me you’ll want to knit multiples of every thing nust so you can play with all the colour combinations 🤗

We’re at in Romsey today with lots of our Oyster Yarns. You can find us & lots of other fabulous yarn sellers at the Mechanics Institute on the main drag. It’s a fabulous day for exploring the area if you need an excuse to come out. 😉
Doors are open until 2.30pm.

To all our US customers - sadly like many other small businesses we have had to suspend shipping to the USA for the time being…
With the de minimis exemption finishing and still no clear direction or system from Australia Post and UPS/USPS for dealing with duties/taxes/tariffs - we unfortunately have no choice. Otherwise we risk goods being destroyed or returned and lots of unhappiness.
We will monitor the situation and as soon as we are able to resume, we will do so…..

Just So Dang Pretty!

Feeding my colourwork itch with this beautiful yoked jumper by .

I’m using our new to the shop Holst Garn Supersoft in shades Sloe, Cloudberry & Rosebud.

This is one of those ‘I’ll just knit one more row… one more row… one more row’ patterns & I’m already thinking about what different 3 colour combinations I can use for the next one.

I think that might be the knitter’s equivalent to ‘if you like it buy one in every colour’
