This Golden Fleece replica ram is roto moulded in Australia by Dynaplas. At Dynaplas we have been Roto moulding the Golden Fleece Yellow SINCE 1980 when we matched the colour to fit their trucks / oil tankers. The Golden Fleece Ram has been manufactured from UV stabilised virgin polyethylene and was first made to put on vintage petrol bowsers.

Golden Fleece was an iconic Australian brand known for its petroleum products and service stations, many of which featured roadhouse-style restaurants. At its peak in the 1960s and 1970s, Golden Fleece operated approximately 5,000 service stations, roadhouses, and distributors nationwide, making it the largest restaurant chain in Australia at the time. 

These roadhouses were particularly significant in rural areas, often serving as the sole dining option for local residents and travelers. They offered a variety of home-style meals, including sandwiches, pies, mixed grills, and milkshakes, catering to families and communities. 

In 1981, Caltex acquired Golden Fleece, leading to the gradual disappearance of the Golden Fleece brand and its associated roadhouses. The distinctive golden merino ram logo, once a common sight across Australia, became a nostalgic symbol of a bygone era. 

Today, Golden Fleece memorabilia, such as enamel signs, petrol pumps, and oil bottles, are highly sought after by collectors, reflecting the enduring legacy of the brand in Australia’s cultural history.
