BQS Electrical Pty Ltd is seeking a qualified sheetmetal worker to join our team on a full-time basis. You will be primarily responsible for manufacturing large Electrical Switchboards using Zinc, Stainless Steel & Marine Grade Aluminium (other small tasks will also be required). Your expertise will contribute to the functionality and safety of residential, commercial, or industrial facilities.
Responsibilities:
Manufacture and assemble large electrical switchboards using Zinc Steel, Stainless Steel, and Marine Grade Aluminium
Read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications accurately
Perform sheet metal fabrication tasks including cutting, folding, welding, drilling, and assembly
Manufacture hat sections, brackets, supports, and other custom metal components relevant to the electrical industry
Ensure all switchboards are manufactured to required specifications, quality standards, and deadlines
Troubleshoot fabrication issues, identify faults, and implement practical solutions
Operate fabrication equipment and tools safely and efficiently
Collaborate with electricians, contractors, construction teams, and other professionals to ensure products are completed correctly and on schedule
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment
Adhere to workplace health and safety procedures at all times
Conduct quality checks to ensure finished products meet company and industry standards
Keep accurate records of work completed, materials used, and production requirements
Assist with general workshop duties and other tasks as required by the business
Contribute positively to a team-focused and productive work environment
Requirements:
Sheetmetal trade qualifications
2 years’ of relevant industry experience
Current white card
Driver licence and own vehicle (preferred)
Previous commercial and domestic switchboard experience is essential
Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously
Excellent customer relations and time keeping
A flexible attitude
Immediate start - Monday to Friday
