This is a post for my long term Maker's Keep followers , friends and cheerleaders from waaay back when it was just a little pop up .

II'm so deeply saddened to say one of my O.G artist and true life friend Louise has passed.

Louise was a friend long before the shop and the shop along ; she came for the ride supporting my vision and trusting me to sell her brilliant and beautiful art.

If you are lucky enough to have purchased one of her originals , treasure it. Her eye for colour mixing was amazing and she knew how to capture a moment that all of us could feel, even if we had not experienced . It was no accident I sold most of her art to city folk - who connected with her beautiful portrayal of country life . My regret is not owning one myself but it never occurred to me we didn't have time .

She was talented as an artist and generous and kind as a person .

I will miss you all of my days
"Louise Next Door " Another one that is just not fair .This one stings . You deserved better Louise xx you and your family are amazing x

Your art was time timeless and now so are you x

Another beautiful church and community; I think this is called St Canices? It was a hop skip and a jump@from my accomodation and had a plant exchange and second hand plant shop / plant rehab service amongst many other offerings ! So lovely 🥰

New South Wales has been so lovely - back to reality ( oh there goes gravity ! 😂😂)

Getting creative with composition will have to suffice for my day 8; the driving, chatting , fossicking and finding have hit me today and I'm a wee bit tired !

This is one of the ten thousand churches I have seen and the contrast was so bright, crisp and beautiful it really caught my eye ( once the fog lifted (after a f f f freeeeezzIng start to the day !).

I have loved my time in both the Southern Highlands and the Tablelands of New South Wales. I've met some gorgeous folk and interacted with some amazing artisan's and shop owners. My fave part of today was stumbling across a village called Neville !
It's been a joy. I love making new friends. I have be building list of al the things I want to do when I come again.

Off to the big smoke tomorrow!

My coffee was more than a coffee this morning. It was a nice reminder good things are there to be found if you reframe your focus .

It's easy to be cynical about churches and religion in general in this day and age – historically for many good reasons. But we forget that they're not just giant beautiful buildings and places to go. They are communities and full of people who want to help and do better in the world and live by example.

I tinker-net searched closest coffee shop to my accomodation and it turned out to be one attached to a church. Not only was it a coffee shop it was a general gathering place and safe place . It did look like any other cafe but it also had a very large heater and showers so that homeless / rough sleepers could get warm shower , change , launder what ever they need with a pay it forward coffee and warm food

Meanwhile a steady stream of tradies, business folk, emergency services , early krona exercises , dog walkers you name it came and joined the Frey.
It was a lovely friendly community where all walks of life felt comfortable in their own skin .

It was a timely reminder of good in the world ( and the coffee was good because I would not post for s**t coffee!!!! Hahaha )

I'm not tagging them because it's a community cafe not an insta promotion . I just loved being a fly in the wall and watching all these interactions from all walks of life.
Not a promo for religion !definitely advocating for more kindness.
