We have an exciting opportunity for a results-driven Sales Agronomist to join our high-performing Mackay team.
This role is perfect for an experienced professional who thrives on growing sales, building strong customer relationships, and driving on-farm results. Based in the heart of Queensland’s cane country, Mackay offers a unique mix of sugarcane, broadacre and mixed farming systems, providing great scope to expand your customer base and influence.

About the Role
This is a hands-on, sales-focused agronomy role where you will:
Drive sales growth across crop protection, fertiliser and seed
Manage and expand a profitable customer portfolio
Build strong, long-term relationships as a trusted advisor to growers
Identify and convert new business opportunities in the region
Deliver tailored agronomic solutions that improve productivity and returns
Execute structured sales plans, call cycles and seasonal campaigns
Stay across product innovations, pricing and market trends to maximise sales outcomes
Represent Nutrien at field days, trials and local events
Position yourself as the go-to agronomy and inputs specialist in Mackay
What you’ll bring
Proven success in a sales-driven agronomy or rural merchandise role
Strong commercial mindset with the ability to identify and close opportunities
Solid understanding of agronomy, inputs and seasonal farming cycles
Experience managing customer relationships and growing portfolios
Confident communicator with a strong focus on customer service and results
Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a team sales culture
Relevant qualification in Agriculture (or similar)
Current driver’s licence
Local knowledge of sugarcane or northern cropping systems is highly regarded.
