Nothing brings people together quite like good food.

The smell of fresh coffee in the morning, something sizzling on the grill, sweet treats that disappear faster than they're made... it's all part of what makes the Banksia Makers Market such a great day out.

We're looking for a few fantastic food vendors to join us for our Saturday, 12th of September market in beautiful Port Sorell.

Whether you're serving gourmet burgers, loaded fries, authentic street food, wood-fired pizza, fresh baked goodies, decadent desserts, refreshing drinks or something completely unique, we'd love to hear from you.

Our visitors come hungry, stay to browse, and love supporting local food businesses just as much as our talented makers.

🌿💛 WHAT A BEAUTIFUL DAY AT BANKSIA! 💛🌿

The sun came out, the doors opened… and so did you! ☀️

What an absolutely wonderful day at Banksia Makers Market. We had beautiful weather, a fantastic crowd and so many familiar faces (and plenty of new ones!) wandering through, chatting with our makers, discovering something special and supporting local.

And that support means more than you probably realise. 💛
Every purchase, every conversation, every person who stops to admire someone's work, every coffee grabbed, treat enjoyed and friend dragged through the doors helps keep our little community of makers, creators and small businesses doing what they love.

A huge thank you to our amazing vendors who turn up with tables full of things they've made, baked, grown, designed, stitched, poured, painted, created and dreamed up. Banksia simply wouldn't be Banksia without you.

And, as always, a VERY special thank you to Dean of Critter Creations by Dean.
Before dawn, there he was — helping us unload, set up and somehow turn an empty hall into a market before most sensible people had even contemplated breakfast.

Dean, you are an absolute legend and we appreciate you more than we can say. 💛

But our biggest thank you has to go to YOU — our community.
You came out in force today.
You supported local.
You supported handmade.

WE ARE OPEN! The weather is phenomenal, and the hall and outside are packed. Grab some dumplings or waffles to eat, a coffee or bubble tea to drink, and browse over 40 stalls with all sorts of handmade and baked goods. We even have fresh produce outside! On until 1:30pm.

A bag of fresh potatoes.
A dozen free-range eggs.
A jar of local honey.
A beautiful pumpkin waiting to become tonight's soup, tomorrow's roast, or Nan's famous pumpkin scones.

Sometimes...
The simplest things are the ones we use the most.

And we're absolutely delighted to welcome Cam's Spuds to the Banksia Makers Market family.

For the first time, Banksia will have fresh local produce, bringing another wonderful piece of the traditional country market experience to Port Sorell.

🥔 Fresh potatoes, ready for everything from creamy mash to crispy roast potatoes.
🧅 Quality onions, the starting point of so many favourite family recipes.
🎃 Beautiful pumpkins, perfect for hearty winter soups, roasting and baking.
🥚 Fresh free-range eggs, because breakfast always tastes better when it starts with farm-fresh ingredients.
🍯 Generous 700g jars of local honey, perfect on fresh bread, drizzled over porridge or stirred into a hot cuppa on a chilly morning.

And perhaps the best part?
You'll be buying it all the old-fashioned way...
Straight from the back of the ute.
It doesn't get much more like a real country market than that.

There's something wonderfully nostalgic about choosing your own produce from the back of a farmer's ute.
No bright supermarket aisles.
No plastic displays.
