Sadly we have had a few absentees the last few weeks due to winter illnesses which isn’t unusual for this time of the year.
But those that have been well they have certainly been sewing up a storm.
We laid out a pretty patchwork quilt, soft toys and placemats have been popular and all but the quilt were completed and have gone home with their maker.
Another successful week of sewing for our TPPear Schoolies.

THREADS OF NATURE
SALA EXHIBITION
PART THREE

I selected some of DJ’s cross stitch masterpieces for this year’s exhibition Don Williams and as always are much admired.

DJ and I created several collaborative pieces this time - a Berlin wool work piece, a couple of cushions and a floor mat.
I am particularly in love with the floor mat.
I whipped it up using new and old tapestries that DJ had stitched over the years.
I was going to make a mountain of cushions but then had this idea to create a floor mat and I just love it!!

THREADS OF NATURE
SALA EXHIBITION
PART TWO

I had so many ideas in my head that I wanted to create for this exhibition. Thank goodness I started early although several were only finished the week before the opening.
The slow stitching collage pieces have been happily evolving over the past 12 months. Then there were several workshop samples that I decided needed to be completed and quilt tops that needed quilting and binding.
Nothing like a deadline to get things completed.

On display at the Nautilus Arts Centre till 31st August.

The Fibre Friends Collective are: Elizabeth Williams, Phebe Rendulic, Emma Fuss, Katie Smith, Kirsty Tothill, Nola Samuel, Don Williams, Marie Glover, Katrina Williams, Bethany Collins, Helen Keefe, Leslie Menz and Lainey Parker.

THREADS OF NATURE
SALA EXHIBITION
PART ONE

We the Fibre Friends Collective enjoyed a fabulous opening night last week!!
Thank you everyone that braved the cold evening to be apart of it. We have filled the gallery space with so much goodness it takes my breath away.
In my opening speech I introduced each of the thirteen creatives that make up the collective this year. Our theme was broad enough, which enabled each of us to create and develop pieces that ultimately when combined look absolutely amazingly altogether.
With the official stuff over it was time to enjoy the rest of the evening and share conversations.
Thank you to Mitchell from the Port Lincoln Times for coming along and getting a group photo with those of us that were able to attend.

On display at the Nautilus Arts Centre till 31st August.

The Fibre Friends Collective are: Elizabeth Williams, Phebe Rendulic, Emma Fuss, Katie Smith, Kirsty Tothill, Nola Samuel, Don Williams, Marie Glover, Katrina Williams, Bethany Collins, Helen Keefe, Leslie Menz and Lainey Parker.

Took my newly completed hexagon pin cushion / lavender sachet out for a photo shoot.
I made a new version using 1” hexagons and it turned out a much better size.
I used wattle printed fabrics - Mimosa by KOKKA with an Alison Glass print for the centres.
When completed I went in search of course for some wattle - doesn’t it look pretty - it’s a perfect match!!

There was so much to look at … bags, quilts, soft toys, cushions, zippered pouches, poufes, bunting, placemats, pillowcases, wall hangings, aprons, oven mitts, knitted dishcloth macrame - hope I didn’t miss anything
