MEET DAVE 🖼️👍

We met Dave a few weeks ago when he came into the shop to buy a piece of canvas. I love Dave he’s got a huge heart ♥️ is so intelligent and so exceptionally talented.

Dave lives homeless in the Parklands in a tent. That’s also where he paints, on the ground in his tent. He met chef Simon Bryant at the Hutt St Centre when he was cooking there and to thank him he painted him a piece of his art 🖼️ He is really proud of this.

I asked Dave how’s he been doing during winter as it’s been freezing 🥶 he said I’m alright it’s not too bad. We’ve offered to sell his paintings here and that he is very welcome anytime to come into the shop and paint. I hope he does as I think customers would love that. Dave had also been involved with this years SALA exhibition. He sold one of his paintings through that and was so proud. I am proud of him too.

So if you are looking for a traditional piece of art 🖼️ from an incredible human Dave has this piece for sale in our shop. What I love about this painting is it changes colour in different light 💡

He’s very charming so of course when he asked me to sell his work in the shop I was always going to say Yes. He’s got the confidence 😉

Tanya & Lino have been building this for 19 years here and there. A family project that they believe has been 4 years of work hours and a labour of love 🧩🖼️♥️ Now it’s framed in its gorgeous Cairo Silver frame 🖼️ with non reflective glass so you can see every piece. Brilliant! 🖼️🧩♥️
