Had to share this great read and description of the Bergantino Audio Systems Forte D and HP Ultra amp heads, which is pretty much on the money and as many owners/users describe as the best amps they've ever played through!

Came across this take of the Bergantino Ultra and Forte D amps vs other builders on TalkBass. Appreciate!

“I have gig time with both the Ultra and the Forte D, as well as many other heads. The Forte D is a classic Berg in all the right ways, with an “easy button” dial that lets you bring in a bit more character if you want it. It’s a very cool feature and lets you rapidly re-voice the head on the fly while everything stays in balance. For people like me who don’t use effects pedals (except occasionally), I appreciate amps like the Forte D that give me some quickly accessible options.

Without taking anything away from the Forte D’s excellent performance, I am beyond pleased with the Ultra. It’s unlike almost anything else I’ve played, and I believe it will be seen over time as iconic for its innovative design and powerful, versatile performance. There are a lot of great heads out there these days, but few are like the Ultra in terms of setting an undeniable benchmark.

What fascinates me most is that, above all other attributes, I associate Berg products with being less voiced without sounding sterile. That’s a really hard trick to pull off when it comes to musical instrument amplification, in my opinion. Jim’s designs feel like they support the player and the instrument in a very transparent way, enabling a lot of nuance and subtle aspects to be heard that more heavily voiced equipment would alter or bury completely.

I’m not against voiced amps and cabs and own quite a few, but when you want what I can only call the Bergantino sound, there’s no one who does it better in my experience.”
