A couple of days ago 1300KOALAZ' Daniel and Daisy were released.

Daniel came in with a broken leg, broken nose and bruising to his lungs, we really were not sure he would make it. Daisy had to come into care after she was found alone. We found and rescued mum but she was suffering from mastitis with blood in the milk and the vet advised us to hand raise.

Anyway Daniel has done extraordinarily well with the help of his carers and after 8 months it was time to say goodbye.

Daniel went first but was reluctant to leave and kept climbing back up onto his carers shoulder. Eventually he left but rather than the modest starter tree selected for him he chose to run to the biggest tree around. It was so big it would have needed 3 people holding hands to reach round it. Anyway there was no way he was going to get up that one so he was retrieved and given a helping hand to get started up a more suitable tree.

Then he was off. A slow steady climb getting used to the movement of the branches.

Then it was Daisy's turn, sadly the video switched itself off before it had even started so we have no video of it. But she went straight up the tree to join Daniel at the top where they sat swaying about in the breeze. Holding tight they didn't seem at all fazed by the motion of the branches which is great.

So now they are wild koalas, although there is someone who is able to keep an eye on them as long as they remain in the area so hopefully we will get some updates on how they are doing.

If you find a sick, injured, orphaned or distressed koala please call 1300KOALAZ (1300 562 529) for help or advice.

Hi all, it is with regret I need to inform you that as of now the Vines Market is closed.
Due to new Neighbourhood Centre policies and other issues I no longer feel able to deliver the kind of market you and the stallholders deserve.
The market for me was never about making a living wage, if that had been the case I would have stopped after the first year. It was about feeling part of a community and offering something for the local community to enjoy.
For those of you who turned up come rain, hail or shine a huge thank you, it was a pleasure getting to meet so many of you.
Stay safe, stay healthy don’t forget to support small local businesses

Would be lovely to see you down at the Vines Market next Saturday.
