Throwback to .dac.art exhibition “Buffalo” in November 2025

Framed using our hand stained timber profiles, each piece was carefully matched to a frame which suited, bringing consistency across the show without losing individuality of each painting.

The final step: beeswax.

Applied by hand, the wax deepens the timber tones, fills tiny imperfections, and leaves a beautiful natural lustre on the frame.

Throwback to this beautiful exhibition by .caday , Balikbayan / Returning Home, which we had the pleasure of framing last year, shown at

For this exhibition we framed the works in blackwood, chosen specifically for its rich warmth and natural grain. The timber echoed the earthy palette in Chloe’s paintings and brought out the subtle greens, ochres and soft neutrals throughout the series. It’s always satisfying when the frame doesn’t compete with the artwork, but instead quietly elevates it.

A lovely collaboration and a reminder of how the right frame can truly complete a piece.

We’re thrilled to have framed these limited prints by to be presented at the Geelong Gallery gift shop alongside Lewer’s major solo exhibition currently on at the gallery 🖼️✨

Richard Lewer — I Only Talk to God When I Want Something is on display at Geelong Gallery until Sunday 1 March 2026

This powerful survey brings together key works from across Lewer’s practice — from Confessions and Seven Deadly Sins to Stations of the Cross — and includes new pieces commissioned by the gallery that respond to the idea of the Last Judgement.

Lewer, a Melbourne-based multi-disciplinary artist, uses painting, drawing and animation to explore universal themes like belief, ritual, morality and the human condition, often with a sharp sense of humour and insight.

A little mix from the last few months 🤍
Finished framing, beautiful art, and some much needed family time in between.

Thank you to everyone who’s supported us this year, whether you’ve been coming to The Frame Shop for years or found us more recently. Your support has meant so much, especially through a year that’s had its challenges. The best part of this job is the community of creatives and Geelong locals we get to spend time with and chat with every day.

A quick one to say thank you for an incredible year, and I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas 🎄

The run into December was a little bit wild (as it always is), so I ran out of time to post before we wrapped up — but we’re now taking a short break to reset and recharge.

We’ll be officially back to our usual hours from Thursday 15th January. I’ll be doing a little bit of work behind the scenes over the break to keep the wheels turning, so if you need to get in touch feel free to DM or text me and I’ll get back to you when I can.

Otherwise, I hope you’re enjoying some downtime and we’ll see you in the new year 🤍
