Thank you so much for the overwhelming love and support on our recent news.

But we do have a big apology to make.

We’ve had alot of messages and chats - and it’s become very clear to us that many of you are feeling all the feels about The Ivy coming to an end. We’ve got so many happy memories with all of you and of our amazing time in shop-life and we’re so humbled and moved by your shared connection. And, we’re so sorry that we were trying way too hard to be positive about it all. But we hope you understand, we have to be. And, there’s also a lot for us to be so incredibly thankful for.

Heck yes, we’re utterly heartbroken that what we created and the deep love, mind blowing sacrifices and time we poured in to our business - for our community and our family - has come to an end and was all destroyed by an inexcusable situation, that we had no control over.

It’s also taken 2 more precious Summers from us with our family - packing up and setting back up, it’s taken future plans and dreams we’d worked so bloody hard for, and 14 months of our lives being on hold and the most life-changing stress we’ve ever experienced.

BUT in amongst all of that we’ve become pro level at finding the silver linings, the blessings, the digging deep, the daily glimmers and the amazing people in our lives.

We’ve unlocked strengths in ourselves that we never knew existed and we’ve learned more about ourselves and each other in some kind of weird 14 month intense endurance challenge! 10/10 do not recommend - maybe go to a Byron or Bali Wellness Retreat instead! But we have to reframe the devastation and we have to count our blessings, always.

And even though The Ivy is gone - we’re so immensely grateful that an opportunity came our way for us to personally move on - with dignity and respect, with closure and full hearts. That, to us, is priceless 🙏♥️

6 years of The Ivy & a truly amazing chapter (well, for 5 of those) - but the handing over of this key means the beginning of a new one.

The life of The Ivy has come to an end, sadly - but it will forever live on in our hearts & we’re so grateful for the friendships, joy, lessons, growth & opportunities that The Ivy brought to our lives - & for the way you've walked by our sides & held us through so much, both personally & in business - including a flipping pandemic!

6 years has certainly gone in a blink & somehow our little boy is already taller than me! Ok, that's not hard... but still!

But we leave Newhaven with full hearts - thanks to our amazing little team & dear friends, Jak and Sharn. & ofcourse to you guys, our friends & our amazing community.

We’re beyond grateful for the incredible love & support you've given us & our little shop - & again when our doors briefly reopened recently. But as wonderful as all of that is - there's not a viable way forward for us to continue our beautiful business, after the financial & personal tolls of the last 14 months.

We unexpectedly received several offers for our business over 2025; for one reason & another they weren't to be. But a recent offer for our remaining stock & equipment (not the biz) came our way & clearly the universe decided that was the best path for us.

The team next door will be expanding their in to the space. We wish them all the best & hope that it's a wonderful time of community & fun - like it has been for us! Congratulations guys 🥂

Thanks also to the lovely humans behind the beautiful products & plants we were able to bring to you. It's been an honour to represent you & your hard work.

Collectively, the love we’ve felt, your support & belief in us has been truly humbling & The Ivy not only survived but thrived, with thanks to all of you.

We're hanging on to this account - we love you all too much! And maybe after some healing & regrouping, we'll be back with another something to share with you. Let’s see what the future holds.

Hey there lovely souls, we just wanted to pop in and say we’re sorry we’ve been a little mia - we’ve been thinking of you! And sorry if we haven’t gotten back to your messages… there’s been a heck of a lot happening bts 😅

We’re also overflowing with gratitude here and wanted to say the biggest thank you again for absolutely everything! We haven’t stopped smiling or talking about countless special moments and special people - and this little shop is once again filled to the brim with good vibes. ✨

Money couldn’t buy that kind of healing or therapy - our community, friends and family are magical and we’re so incredibly lucky.

Happy Monday ☀️✌️

We’re open 10-1 today - and we’ll happily keep the doors open longer if it’s busy.

From today onwards keep your eye on our socials for opening hours - Jaz is hunkering down for some crazy hours in his other job and I’ve got some health stuff going on + insurance matters taking up my time. So we’re working on a plan in the current crazy juggle and we look forward to announcing more opening hours very soon!

In the meantime feel free to order online 24/7 - we’re still working on the website but the orders have started flowing in and all seems to be working well, which is super exciting!

What a weekend! ☀️ Our hearts are full and our minds are blown. Thank you 🥹🙏 from the bottom of our hearts. The visits, hugs, gifts, chats, tears and laughs, the messages and wishes, generosity and shopping - and the way you’ve shown up for us - has been nothing short of amazing.

We knew our little shop had been dearly missed but the connection so many of you have with it was deeper than we knew and we can’t tell you what that means to us.

Our shop is an extension of our hearts and our home - and it’s just been so beautiful to hear things like you feel seen, safe, peace and happiness in there - and we have the privilege of seeing seeing so many wonderful people and our beautiful community coming together in that space every day.

We’ll be open again 10-1 tomorrow, come say hello, we’d absolutely love to see you ❤️

Just an update to let you know hours will be announced in the morning. We still have some system work to do to finalise our inventory levels and website resurrection, before we hit the ground running tomorrow.

We’re not long home and we’re hoping we’ve done enough for you to feel the love when you come through the doors this weekend. But please don’t expect too much just yet - as we’ve said already our focus for now is on trying to recover some our huge losses and wanting to provide an opportunity for our voucher holders.

And just to recap, the shop looks different right now - some of our fixtures and fittings were damaged, destroyed or broken across the past 14 months, some weren’t reinstalled by the insurance building company and some are missing completely.

There are no plants as they were sadly all destroyed by the drying equipment and dehumidifiers - but there are a few amazing cacti that thrived in the arid + warm and westerley conditions in the back room of the shop!

It’s been one heck of a battle to get to this point but we’re so bloody glad that we’ve dug so deep! And whatever this chapter now holds and however short or long it is for us, we’re grateful you’re here for it with us ❤️
And nerves, overwhelm, emotions and all - we can’t wait to see you over the weekend if you can make it - and we have an extremely special someone joining us who is looking forward to seeing you all too!

Thank you so much for every single way you’re showing us your support, we’re so grateful.

Hey everyone, thanks again for all of your amazing love and support! You got us good 🥹❤️
It’s been an emotional few days reading through the beautiful comments, dm’s and messages - sending you another big virtual hug - while we finish off the huge cleaning and unpacking jobs. If we never see plaster dust again it’ll be a very good thing!
But thanks for getting us through this patch, it’s been a rotten cherry on top of a mud pie and we’d almost run out of steam to keep digging deep - your kindness has helped more than you know 🫶
Things aren’t quite looking the same in here just yet and our long awaited aesthetic plans for the space got put on hold - but the good vibes haven’t gone anywhere and we know they’ll get even better when you guys start walking through the doors again.
We don’t know what the future looks like right now - more on that soon - but thanks again for sticking around and throwing some glitter over this! We love glitter (well one of us does 💁🏼‍♀️😆) and we love our community ✨ x x x

THANK YOU with all our hearts for the amazing support from our post yesterday! ❤️ We wish we could hug you all & also reply to every kind word - but we’re under the pump, so please accept this virtual hug 🤗

We’re getting close to opening the doors & we’ll be back with some more info - but we need to be clear about a few things first. Btw this isn’t the ‘exciting news’ post…

We’re reopening as we want to give our gift card holders the opportunity to use them - it’s literally kept us awake at night.

We also outlaid alot of money on pre Christmas stock buying in the last few months of 2024 & then had to face the damages from the flooding, at the end of November. Our insurance company sent in their team who went through all of our stock meticulously, then boxed & removed it for disposal 😔 We are still waiting to be compensated for that stock & will only be paid the wholesale cost (upon us providing an invoice for every single item, which is a tedious & mammoth job). But here’s the extra catch - they don’t pay the shipping, gst, holding costs, staff wages to unpack the stock etc, & that we’ve already paid! So we’re at a loss before we even start…

We then suffered another huge loss from further damages caused by the industrial heaters, dehumidifiers & driers. Not to even mention the many other expenses & losses to our business & to us personally.

We’re hoping that by opening we can also have the opportunity to make some funds to pay the many debts that are waiting for us (also keeping us awake!) & if we’re able to make enough over & above those debts - then we will be able to keep the doors open & reinvest to resurrect our beautiful business.

Please also note that due to the dehumidifiers & drying equipment - & due to being unable to safety access the shop - we devastatingly lost all of our plants (which we’d just done a huge pre xmas buying spree for). We have since learned, that despite our proof of purchases, we will not be compensated for any ‘living stock’ despite the insurance loss adjuster inspecting the dead & dying plants - not his choice btw, just insurance co policies, at their finest!
