From next week, City of Newcastle will introduce changes to around 20 on-street car parks on Hunter Street between Brown St and Thorn St.
The changes aim to improve parking turnover in the East End Village, making it easier for visitors to find parks and support local businesses, especially during evenings and weekends.
Council says paid and timed parking will help create more available spaces, encourage more visitors into the city, and boost economic activity as part of the ongoing East End Village revitalisation project.
