🌟 Australian Quilt & Craft Market 🌟

I’ve finally had a chance to gather my thoughts and sit down to tell you all about our trip to the Australian Quilt & Craft Market last weekend — and what a fabulous time it was!

A big road trip, a box full of lollies (because no journey is complete without snacks 🍬), great company, and a whole lot of creative inspiration set the tone for the weekend.

We kicked things off with a stop at Bendigo Woollen Mills, because of course you can’t drive past without calling in! Then it was straight into the colour, talent and creativity of AQCM. Everywhere you looked there were stunning quilts, adorable softies, clever patterns, beautiful bags and so many new ideas to fall in love with. 🧵

One of the true highlights was catching up with old friends and designers — the kind of connections that make these events so special. And yes… we wrapped up the days just right: dinner, a good chat, and a well-earned glass of wine.

I headed back to The Fabric Farm feeling inspired, refreshed and bursting with ideas for 2026.

Check out this amazing quilt beautifully made by one of our students!!! It took about 2 years of hard work. It is foundation paper pieced, truly a work of art!!! Well done Charlotte!! This quilt is on display at the Leeton Show today, make sure you stop by the Pavilion to see it in person!!

🐨🐨 The Fabric Farm at the Koala Festival! 🐨🐨What an incredible day at the Narrandera Koala Festival! We were kept so busy with kids and ladies creating stunning fibre weaving art and adding to a beautiful collaborative design on our rustic loom. The wind tried to blow us away, but it didn’t slow down the creativity one bit! The festival was buzzing with amazing activities and stalls, keeping the awesome crowd entertained all afternoon and into the evening!! A huge shoutout to Narrandera Tourism for putting on such a fabulous community event!

Shibori magic returned to The Fabric Farm last weekend, and what an incredible time we had! 💙 Over two full days, we immersed ourselves in the timeless art of Shibori with the amazing Shuji and Alison from Wabi Sabi Designs. We folded, bound, stitched, tied, and dipped fabric into the deepest indigo, creating stunning, one-of-a-kind pieces to take home — we can’t wait to see what everyone makes with their creations!

Beyond the dyeing, there was laughter, delicious food, and even a little local adventure. After day one, we took Shuji and Alison to our beautiful Narrandera koala reserve, where Meg helped us spot a few sleepy locals lounging in the trees.

A huge heartfelt thank you to our incredible teachers and the wonderful group of ladies who joined us for a weekend of creativity, connection, and fun!
