One of the stops on Mark's recent Tassie travels was a visit to Maka Leather Goods.

Based in Sorell, Tasmania, Mick Kerkham is a self-taught leatherworker who creates a wide range of leather goods, including his well-known knife rolls, tool belts, aprons and custom-made pieces. Proudly Tasmanian made, Mick's products reflect a genuine passion for quality craftsmanship and attention to detail.

His work is practical, honest and built to be used. It's easy to see why his knife rolls have become a favourite for many chefs, with several high-profile names now using them too.

We always enjoy meeting people who are passionate about what they do, and it was great to see the pride Mick takes in his work and the products he creates.

Thanks to Mick and the team for taking the time to show Mark around the workshop 🙌
