This week in the salon, it’s been nothing but NAILS!

We started with Miley, who wanted some long tips with a very pale pink!

Then we had Wendy, who had her first EVER set of nails! Those cuticles needed a lot of work and her natural nail needed to be built up, so we applied some builder gel to give her nails some thickness. In the end she has nice thick nails, clean edges and a really cute fairy floss pink gel polish ready for her 2 week trip to QLD!

And the last one is me, a basic French tip on my natural nail. Given my other job and the pressure and chemicals that end up on my hands. I would like to see how long they last!

Yesterday, I was booked in to have major surgery I had been waiting over a year for, in Adelaide. I was admitted, gowned up and ready to go when I was told “sorry we have to cancel your surgery as we don’t have enough anaesthetists. Come back on the 27th May”. Excuse me, what?? We travelled 100kms, spent over $1k for accommodation on an Easter long weekend and lost 2 sets of wages just to have it cancelled?? No, I cannot come back then or any other time this year due to a couple of things called FAMILY and LIFE!! Furious is an understatement and every Governing body I could complain to, I did!

My plan while I was in hospital and while I spent 6 weeks recovering was to practice my lashes to build up speed. So as I now sit here in my hotel room furious at our health system and mad our savings are gone, I am practicing lashes on my practice dummy! Need to make a positive out of a negative don’t I?? lol

Today, Zoe came back for a long overdue nail refill, lash lift & lash tint! Ready to give birth any day now, she’s going into Delivery looking and feeling great! Today we did hot pink illuminating glitter gel with a purple feature finger that is also illuminating glitter. How amazing is her nail shape & length? This is all natural!!

It was my first time using this gel and using my nail plaque!! I have hundreds of new colours, textures and magical gel polishes ready to be put on a colour chart and a stack more coming ready for your choosing!

Today, I had the pleasure of having the lovely Tania in the salon! This was a surprise organised by her husband!

Fresh set of gel nails and an eyebrow wax! Sometimes little is more and you leave feeling amazing. Thanks for allowing me to work on you today Tania! Can’t wait to see you next time 🙂

Today, it was Stepmum/Step daughter day in the salon! We had Zoe & Amelia in for Amelia’s 7th birthday! Both got a matching set of pink colour changing gel nails and Amelia got a bit of glam for her birthday dinner tonight! The nail colour was amazing to watch change between pink & red, I want to put a set on myself!!

Last part of the salon is complete……

Ready to take on clients for Manicures, Pedicures & Gel polish! Lots of different size and shape tips in stock. I plan on expanding my services to include powder dip nails and nail art. But you don’t need to come and have your nails painted, I specialise in hand & Nail repair! Nails damaged by biting, picking, general wear, overgrown cuticles, dirty etc….? Let me take care of those hands and get them back to normal! As always, everyone is welcome at BBBK 🏳️‍🌈

Apologies for the lack of posting, I have been run down with a chest & lung infection and been on so many medications and my nebuliser that I haven’t been able to keep my appointments for the past week! I will be in contact shortly to those to re-book! But I’m on the mend and ready to get back to it!

So I am also doing a thing! I am back at TAFE SA enhancing my skills doing a Certificate II in Salon Assistant! This will allow me to add hair styling to my services (hair & make up packages for the future) and open the door for me to explore hairdressing! While I want to focus on the beauty side, I would be keen to one day explore hairdressing! But for now it’s all about beauty with a bit of hair! So now on fridays, the salon will be closed for study and on a Friday night, this beautician turns into a cheerleader! Yes, my other hobby is cheerleading! So I travel to Adelaide for training every Friday night.

Don’t forget, I am looking for lash models! I have spare time during the weeks and some evenings! Both classic and volumes. Multiple sizes available. $20 just to cover supplies and I will send you home with all your aftercare! Disclaimer: may take a few hours as I am seeking models to help me build up my speed!

Please be kind, I am trying to build up my speed and refresh my lashing skills! So grateful to this girl for her patience with me on Saturday and an early refil tonight ready for school formal tomorrow night!

Looking for models. Must be able to lay down for up to 5 hours max as I am wanting to build my speed up due to next to no lashing between qualification to now. $20 just to cover materials and overheads. Will provide aftercare to maintain also. Lots of sizes available! PM me to organise a time ❤️

Today, we welcomed Zoe to the salon! She is the first client in my new salon! Zoe came in wanting a lash lift and a Lash & Brow tint.
