Another day, another rip roaring Classings’ client ram sale with the Karawatha Park On Property hustling its way to a $3,018 average with all 150 offered sold.

In past years the tremendous ‘floor price’ provided by astute station purchasers was a huge boon for this outfit in ensuring mostly total clearance sales.

A total turnaround at this year’s sale with the bush looming as potentially enjoying the best of the best seasons ever recorded thus creating a top end spend today that left many locals, with all due respect at times, this years ‘floor’ in effect!

Top price at $6,000 sold to Boongala Props. was Karawatha Park 251308 via KPk 240078 from a ripper ewe with all the attributes that makes this stud as renowned as it is add the following numbers:

I had an order for 150 rams😜yet only latched onto one by days end at Lot 85 for the Irwin family’s Balah Nominees to be used as a home ram breeder. KPK 250981 is a great allrounder and again bred by another Karawatha Park sire, KPk 231021.

As if the ‘surrounded by drought’ red hot sale of Ridgway Advance, Poll Merino wasn’t blockbuster enough in 2025, try this year’s version with multitudes of green grass, pasture and on-fire rural commodities helping this sale to a $3,442 average selling all but one of 182 offered.

A strong gallery of SA, NSW, Vic. & Queensland buyers outbid each other all day to secure outstanding balanced animals full of great phenotypic and subsequent ASBV data.

I had a reasonable budget for quite a handful of rams for Willalooka Pastoral yet secured my first of thirteen at Lot 76 such was the fierce bidding duals all day!

Congratulations to all of the Ridgway clan in breeding a Merino that suits a diverse range of environs yet not appearing to be a lot different across the sale team for conformation and fibre makeup.

The highly valued partnership between this Classer and the breeders and instigators of some of the nation’s most relevant genetics came to the end of the track realising Ramsgate Poll Merinos very last sale today in its present form.

The friendship naturally exists!

A rewarding send off considering a top price of $10,500 for Lot 1 at an average of $2,385. Both Keller families rapt with the sale proceedings of all 86 that were sold with most of the passed in lots sold post sale.

That ram RG 251307, bred by Forest Springs Merino 230059, was originally pencilled in for Classic’26 but leniency from yours truly let him slide into the prized pen, Lot 1 at today’s On Property extravaganza - locals Stewart and Gavin Brophy were strong to knock off runners up, Nantoura Poll Merino who had seen the ram at the South East Stud Merino Field Day and excited about his potential acquisition.

ASBV’s: PWT 9.6 YWT 12.1 YEMD 1.7 YFat 0.1 YCFW 34 YFD -1.9 YSL 17.8 EBWR -0.2 SM 163. A respectable balance of numbers to match a ripper structure, an arse like yours and arguably the fibre of the day!!

Lots of good things across the sale today of which I hope to find the time to promote more so soon. Right now though, all the best to both Keller families for whatever is in store down the track.
