We've had a busy morning here at recreate 🥰

Some wonderful visitors from Mount Pleasant Aged Care joined us for morning tea in the Environment Centre and helped to unravel a large donation of embroidery thread 💜

And in the Share Shed Yvonne has been giving sewing lessons to our lovely customer, Fran 💜

✨ What a beautiful weekend around the Maker’s Table ✨

Our Slow Stitching workshop with Lisa was filled with conversation, cups of tea, goody bags curated by the recreate volunteers, piles of unique fabrics, and a gentle introduction to the creative, mindful practice of slow stitching. 🧵☕️

Lisa spoke lovingly about how a single project can be layered with stories and treasures found at op shops, family collections, and even stained fabrics that might otherwise be overlooked. Armed with a goody bag and a shed full of beautiful fabrics, everyone began creating their own unique piece, each one completely different.

A huge thank you to Lisa for sharing her skills so generously, and to our wonderful volunteers who helped make the day so welcoming.

If you attended the workshop (or even if you didn’t!) we’d LOVE to see everyone’s projects…finished or unfinished. please share them in the comments, or DM them to us. 🪡

"Spent a great morning at Recreate with my bestie, I always find interesting things and ideas, these tiny pale blue butterflies were loving the flowering plants in the garden area, love the newly rearranged area inside, so much light, as ever helpful staff and plenty to see."
