Flashback to 2021: Masks on, community strong, and everyone doing what we could to keep each other safe! 💪✨ We made it our business to be one of the first markets to return during COVID times… 😷🤍 And you made it your business to show up! We love our community ~ thank you.

What mattered most to us then, and still does now, is making sure our community can access the infrastructure we’ve been building since 2015 to generate real, supplemental income and access affordable, sustainable fashion. 💼💛

Her Wardrobe Markets has always been about creating spaces where people express their creativity and individuality 🎨🌈, where circular fashion thrives, and where women have real opportunities to make money. 💸

Because when women have money, they do powerful things with it, like feed and clothe their families and invest back into our own communities. 💥

If things are starting to feel heavy for you again, it's our hope that in these tough moments, we remember: When things get hard, we move through it together and support each other. 🤝💛

Community check in, how are you? I don’t know about you, but some days it feels like the cost of living just keeps climbing in every direction, without any relief at all.

Between rent and rate hikes, petrol, groceries and everything else keeps going up. And wages aren’t keeping pace. Like, at all.

Are you exhausted trying to keep up? We are feeling it! It makes us remember how important it is to support each other right now.

We are absolutely 100% committed to only buying local secondhand fashion.

Research shows that when women earn money, they invest it directly back into their families and their local communities.

Shopping locally for secondhand fashion could literally be the answer we all need right now. (One of them, anyway!)

It was wonderful to visit Immigrant Women’s Support Service and meet with the incredible team supporting women from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds experiencing domestic and family violence.

Their work is vital, providing specialist, culturally safe support to women when they need it most.

The Albanese Labor Governments recent announcement to boost funding for frontline domestic and family violence workers will directly support services like IWSS, helping ensure more women and children can access the help, safety and support they deserve.

Thank you to the team for the compassionate and life-changing work you do every day.

1) Right now, fire ant treatment is underway at the Showgrounds so please DO NOT ENTER. We shared the official notice on our page with details of the affected areas and proposed treatment time.

2) More broadly, there are development proposals to change the function and the future of Mt Gravatt Showgrounds. There was a community consultation regarding new infrastructure; did you participate in the consultation? Do you know what's proposed now?

Public Service Announcement: Fire Ant Infestation at Mt Gravatt Showgrounds.

⚠️ FIRE ANT SAFETY NOTICE ⚠️

During routine inspections, Fire Ant nests have been identified within the Main Arena area at Mount Gravatt Showgrounds.

To ensure public safety and allow professional treatment, the Main Arena and Platform areas will be temporarily closed until at least Friday while the necessary control measures are undertaken.

🚫 Please do not enter these areas during this time.
🐾 Keep children, pets and animals away from the affected zones.

These actions are important to help protect the community and prevent the spread of Fire Ants, which are an invasive species and pose risks to people, animals and the environment.

We appreciate your understanding while treatment is carried out and will provide updates once the areas are safe to reopen.
