“Nowruz Mobarak!” (نوروز مبارک)

Persian New Year, or Nowruz, typically falls on March 20th or 21st, depending on the exact timing of the spring equinox❤️.For the Persian New Year, called Nowruz, families typically set up a special table called the Haft-Seen. This table includes seven symbolic items that all start with the Persian letter “S” (س), each representing a different aspect of life and nature. The seven items are:

Sabzeh (سبزه) – Sprouted wheat, symbolizing rebirth and growth.
Samanu (سمنو) – A sweet, dense pudding made from wheat, symbolizing strength and power.
Senjed (سنجد) – Dried oleaster fruit, symbolizing love and compassion.
Seer (سیر) – Garlic, symbolizing health and medicine.
Seeb (سیب) – Apples, symbolizing beauty and good health.
Somāq (سماق) – Sumac berries, symbolizing patience and the sunrise.
Serkeh (سرکه) – Vinegar, symbolizing aging, wisdom, and patience.
In addition to these, families may also include other items like a mirror, candles, goldfish, coins, hyacinth flowers (sonbol), and a holy book (often the Quran or another sacred text), to further represent various aspects of life, light, and spirituality.
