One of my favourite compositions from 2025.
I love Bridgewater Bay, it’s such a beautiful wild beach!
And during these scorching hot summer days that cool shadow in the foreground and clear water look especially inviting.

The 2016 trend of looking back 10 years reminded me of this photo, which has been my profile picture forever, was taken when I was studying my Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2016. When I look at it now, I see someone at the beginning, experimenting, searching, questioning, (wearing lots of black) trying to work out what kind of painter I wanted to be.

My practice has moved through a lot of exploration since then. I’ve tried things, abandoned them, come back again, and slowly learned to trust what holds my attention for the long term. Landscape, still-life, and a quiet sense of place have become the way I make sense of the world. Shaped by childhood memories, the colours of changing seasons, time spent in observation and mindful connection.

While the work continues to evolve, I feel more grounded in it than ever. I know why I paint, what I’m looking for, and what I want the work to offer. That confidence hasn’t come quickly, it’s grown through years of showing up, technical training, paying close attention and letting the voice of the work reveal itself gradually.

The collection is inspired by those quiet, everyday moments of magic, a bend in the road, a glimpse of a coastline, a sky lit up at a certain time of day. There are just eight paintings in this release, each one is a small window of beautiful light you can live with every day.

Proud to have my work on display in the A.M.E. Bale Art Prize again this year. The exhibition is on for another week at Glen Eira City Council Gallery.

Welcome to my artist page

Hello and welcome to my artist page. I am a figurative painter, working in a modern realistic style. I draw inspiration from the character and individuality of my models as well as my own personal experience of the world.

Since early childhood I have been very interested in visual arts and drawing has always been my favourite method of self-expression. This led me to pursue creative work such as graphic design and illustration, which I did throughout my twenties. After a number of years working as a freelance designer, but feeling a growing sense of frustration that I wasn’t pursuing my vocation, I enrolled into a fine arts course and committed wholeheartedly to painting.

Today I work full-time from my studio in Mornington, Victoria. Through the language of art I strive to understand my subjects on a deeper level, exploring both personal and universal ideas, while continuously working to improve my skills and knowledge of oil painting.

Portraiture, human form, still-life and the the natural world are my most loved subjects.
