🐨 September is Save the Koala Month! 🌿

We're passionate about protecting these adorable Aussie icons. Here are five simple ways you can make a difference and help save the koalas:

1️⃣ Support Koala Conservation: Contribute to reputable koala conservation organisations like the Australian Koala Foundation Your donations go a long way in safeguarding their habitat.

2️⃣ Act quickly: when seeing koala in distress (e.g. on the ground for an extended period of time), contact your local rescue group - such as Southern Koala and Echidna Rescue Ltd, Koala Rescue& 1300Koalaz in SA, Koalas In Care Inc. in NSW, Moreton Bay Koala Rescue & Pine Rivers Koala Care in Moreton Bay, QLD, Wildlife rescue and rehabilitation Mornington peninsula in VIC (please let us know if we need to add any more rescue groups to the list!)

3️⃣ Adopt a Tree: Koalas rely on eucalyptus trees for food and shelter. Participate in tree planting initiatives to help restore their natural habitat. You can support organisations such as Bangalow Koalas- its goal is to establish a Koala Wildlife Corridor across the Northern Rivers of NSW.

4️⃣ Drive Carefully: Be extra cautious when driving through areas with koala populations. Slow down, especially at night, to reduce the risk of accidents.

5️⃣ Educate and Advocate: Spread awareness about the challenges facing koalas and their habitat. Encourage friends and family to get involved in koala conservation efforts.

Happy Melbourne National Day, everyone! On this day, we commemorate the founding of our great city. 🥳🇦🇺

Melbourne was settled on 30 August 1835 by a party of free settlers from Van Diemen's Land. The party was led by John Lancey aboard the schooner Enterprize, and was funded by the businessman John Pascoe Fawkner.

The settlement followed a treaty with the indigenous Aboriginal group, the Wurundjeri of the Kulin nation alliance, which was negotiated by John Batman on behalf of the Port Phillip Association.
