This is “Barbican Heights”, the new release by Adrian Sherwood, African Head Charge and Speakers Corner Quartet. You can get a copy signed when ADRIAN SHERWOOD, producer, remixer, and the engine room of On-U Sound, visits Rocksteady Records for a signing session from 5PM today (THURSDAY, JUNE 4).

We’ll have lots of On-U vinyl available at the instore signing which takes place ahead of Adrian’s LIVE DUB show at  on Friday, June 5 as part of .melbourne. Tickets are available via the RISING events page.

Shake to the quake with the first repress of the dancehall dub classic “Aftershock Dubs” (2014) from Australia’s Sheriff Lindo, dubmaster of the Southern Hemisphere, renowned for “Ten Dubs That Shook the World”
Recorded between 1990 and 2005 at Lindo’s 4/5 Studios, the tracks that form “Aftershock Dubs” were never officially released, instead circulating as dub plates at sound system sessions tested in the heat of dancefloor action.

Sweet delivery from Patrick, the multi-tasking maestro at . is an instrumental project straight from the Dune Castle lab, centred around live improvisation, collaboration, and using the studio as an instrument.

Operating with a rotating cast of musicians, “Downtempo 1” sits at the intersection of live band interplay and downtempo electronic music. Drawing from the language of breaks, sampling and loop-based composition, every sound on the record originates from live performance. Drums, bass, synthesizers and hardware elements were performed simultaneously, with no fixed arrangements or predetermined outcomes.
