What a great weekend we had at Kingston Council's two day Wall to Wall Street and Art Festival. Ten Australian and International artists tackled painting various factory walls in a variety of artistic styles and content. The Mordi Picker had plenty of locals visit and were joined by visitors from the Western, Eastern and Northern suburbs of Melbourne as well as a number of Country Victorians. Many great items found new loving homes and we were pleased with the feedback. So pleased we'll open again this Weekend Sat 4/5 & Sun 5/5 10.30am-4pm. 10 Lamana Rd Mordialloc. If you get a chance please go and see this wonderful Melbourne Film - The Lost City of Melbourne. Mrs Mordi Picker booked tickets at the wonderful Classic Cinema in Elsternwick. A story well told of the building of Melbourne's gold rush buildings, what we've lost and what we've saved. It's as pertinent now as it ever has been given Melbourne's big build push towards a population of 9 million (currently 5.5 million). For where we are located in Kingston the ALP dominated Council and the ALP State Government are proposing 3 story and 11 metre height levels in their C205 planning scheme amendments. The big change in these amendments is that these have now been shifted into the family home residential areas (located away from Stations and Shopping areas where they are rightfully currently concentrated). This will of course allow developers to do the three block gobble up and 30 apartments/ 3 stories being built next to your single story family home. Parking issues in narrow streets. Climate change issues as gardens and backyards are replaced by concrete boxes. Street-scapes dominated. In Kingston feedback closes on the 25 September. It is quite ironic that the saviour of much of the existing Melbourne City heritage was an alliance between the Dick Hamer led Liberal Government and the Norm Gallagher led Builder Labourers Federation.

Closed at Mordialloc this week but you still find us at the Murray St Bazaar Wonthaggi, 1 Murray St Wonthaggi opposite Aldi. We have 2 stalls including a book stall. Heaps of other vibrant and interesting stalls plus a cafe out front. Plus three other vintage markets in town. Well worth drive and a visit.
