About Me

Being a Support Worker is the BEST job I have ever had. No Day is ever the same, and the Sector has grown and evolved in the past 15 years. I started my Disability Career at nineteen and have been in this sector for more than 15 years. Across multiple roles, from my favourite Support Worker across Groups and Individual Supports in the home and community, I have been in management positio

ns across the board. Support Worker Store was born from wanting to help out a fellow support worker and inform our Disability Workforce of the resources available to them.

I’m excited to be joining the panel at Level Up Your NDIS Business Melbourne on Friday 19 June 2026 at Amora Herencia Riverwalk Melbourne.

This event is for NDIS providers, plan managers, allied health professionals and business owners who want practical strategies, stronger referral pathways, better connections and real conversations about growing in 2026.

I’ll be there sharing my thoughts from the sector, asking the real questions, and hopefully having a few “yep, we need to talk about this” moments.

Click the link if you’d like to grab a ticket and come along. 💛

When supports get cut, the need doesn’t disappear.

Someone still has to help.

And most of the time, that “someone” is a mum, sister, daughter, partner, or family member.

Usually a woman.

So when we talk about NDIS cuts like they are just numbers on a page, we miss the real-life impact.

Because behind every “saving” is a person who still needs support.

And often, behind that person, is a woman quietly picking up the pieces.

This is why these conversations matter.

Not because we are being dramatic.

Because people’s lives don’t pause when funding changes.

75+ kids are waiting right now for an iPad through **Keeley’s Cause**.

And this is not about giving kids another screen.

For some children, an iPad is how they communicate.
It is how they learn.
It is how they access telehealth.
It is how they regulate.
It is how they are included.

You can help right now.

Donate money towards an iPad.
Donate unused business iPads sitting in your office.
Or join us on **20 June** at the **Keeley’s Cause Gala at the Grand Hyatt Melbourne**.

Tickets are on sale now.

Go to **keeleyscause.org.au**

Because one iPad might be the tool that helps a child finally be heard.

Support work is more than filling a shift.

It is trust.
It is consistency.
It is knowing how to show up properly for the person in front of you.

The right support worker can help someone build confidence, independence, and real outcomes.

The wrong match can leave everyone burnt out, frustrated, and feeling like the support missed the mark.

That is why matching matters.

Care is not delivered by systems.
It is delivered by people. 💚

Are we being told the full story about NDIS fraud?

Fraud is real.
It needs to be stopped.
No one is arguing with that.

But we need to be careful when the word “fraud” gets used over and over again.

Because when people hear that word, they start to believe the whole NDIS is broken.

And when the public believes the whole scheme is broken, it becomes much easier to justify cuts, tighter rules, and less support for people who genuinely need help.

That is the part we need to watch.

Bad providers, dodgy invoices and people doing the wrong thing should absolutely be held accountable.

But participants, families and good support workers should not be punished because of the actions of a few.

The NDIS was built to give people with disability more choice, more control and better access to support.

So yes, clean up the fraud.

But don’t use fraud as the headline while quietly cutting support from people who need it.

I read an article from The Point called “Are we being misled about NDIS fraud? Yes, we are.”

It’s worth reading if you work in the sector, support someone on the NDIS, or care about what happens next.

Go read the article and then come back and tell me what you think.

Are we cleaning up fraud?
Or are we watching the start of support cuts dressed up as reform?
