Botany Bay Classic The Botany Bay Classic is an annual fishing event on the glorious waters of Botany Bay. Est. in 2010 it has already attracted over 25 anglers.

As the logo suggests boating, fishing and drinking are the main aims of the Botany Bay Classic. Prizes are awarded to Best boat, Runners up, Best Angler, Best Fish and worst Angler

Its a wide open event this year, but George Blakeley is hot favourite for his 3rd Worst Angler award.

The skipper of BG's Breambos has announced a crew change. Gerringong based angler and winner of Best Fish 2015, Matt Philpott has been substituted OUT for Jonathan Clark

Its an interesting tactical move from Brendon Green. Despite multiple Facebook posts suggesting fishing prowess, Jonathan Clark has one of the worst all time records in BBC history - yet to bother the scorers after 4 attempts on 2 separate teams.

When questioned about the change, the Breambos captain responded:
"I just feel like we've been treated harshly by the handicapper, and we're struggling to carry these big weights around Botany Bay.
It's purely tactical. I'm hoping that we can get some relief and claim 3kg with the use of less crudentialled angler"

Matt Philpott was unavailable for comment, but is said to be gutted like a George's River mullet over the sacking.

BG Breambos are considered BBC Royalty having won the title in 2013 and 2019 despite lumping top weight. They have nominated for BBC 2021 but will the Regional NSW travel ban be lifted in time for November 26th ? Does skipper Brendon Green have an emergency crew on standby, of will they be scratched at the barriers ?

Martin's Mullets have nominated for BBC 2021. Being pigeon-holed at 'Best Dressed Specialists' has seen their actual fishing exploits go largely unnoticed. However, the crew lead by skipper Martin Pottage, has been steadily improving each year whilst carrying BBC's habitual Worst Angler. If they can put it together on the day, they're certainly capable of causing an upset.
