This DIVINYLS release from the soundtrack of MONKEY GRIP in 1982 contained two of their best known tunes, Boys In Town and Only Lonely. It must have sold quite a few copies as we have recently noted the differences in colour tone on the cover and even more obviously, the various price stickers attached by the record company. As with all collecting the devil is in the detail. πŸ˜€

Here is an end of the week oddity from the bottom of a box. It's an old 7" TEST PRESSING from FESTIVAL records that has JOHNNY O'KEEFE doing Shake Baby Shake / Good Luck Charm on the A-side taken from side one of his 1964 Shake, Baby Shake! + Twist & Shout! EP (LK-10,778) b/w THE 4 SEASONS Stay (FK-547) which was a big hit around the same time. Happy hunting folks you never know what is out there. πŸ˜‚πŸ¦₯

Wow! Not only is this 1969 album Easy by MARVIN GAYE & TAMMI TERRELL a great listen, but check out the Fan Bag advertised on the inner sleeve. Astounding value at just $3.00 back in the day, that super cool brand name carry bag pre-dates most others we know of in the must have accessories field. Does anyone out there have a complete fan bag with all contents intact still in their collection?? πŸ˜€

Seriously, would you trust these men! Today we had a visit from Adelaide's ROB BROKENMOUTH (THE MOLLY FET CIRCUIT) and GARRY GRAY (SACRED COWBOYS). It turned into a lunch meeting that became a hilarious, animated discussion which included a major dissection of music along with all the associated business and badness from the fifties right up to date. Perfect. Thanks again for the visit, always a pleasure. Looking forward to that record Rob. See you both soon.

Another day with more visitors from the USA. JEFF and JACKIE COOLEY from Springfield, Illinois made a special effort to come past the store today. Jeff is a huge Beatles fan along with The Smiths and Nick Cave to name just a couple of other artists among his numerous musical interests. Jeff and Jackie are celebrating a major anniversary with a first trip to Australia and from our conversation they are enjoying every minute. We wish them both safe travels and hope they have a memorable holiday. Great to meet you both. πŸ˜€

Yesterday we had a very welcome surprise visit from long time customer, JAY NEWBERGER from Dallas, Texas. Jay was a regular customer from around 35 years ago, back in the days when we would take a full page advertisement every issue in the leading American record collecting publication called GOLDMINE. It was an absolutely great read with many well researched articles and an enormous classified section featuring some of the rarest records in the world for sale at the time. We very much value our customers from those days as it means they made the long journey with us from the start of their serious interest in collecting music in all of it's formats. Safe travels Jay, it was really great to meet you. πŸ˜ƒ
