FINAL REMINDER - We will be closed for *sharpening and order processing from end of business tomorrow, Friday 19 December 2025

*Jobs we have on hand will be attended to and sent. We will contact you regarding your gear. We will not be sharpening anything that arrives after tomorrow, until Wednesday 13 January 2025.

Giveaway will be drawn this Saturday 20 December.
I have 4 great prizes to be won and if you've placed an order from 1 October 2025, you go into the draw. Draw will be done 5.00pm on 20/12 AEDST.

Sharpening jobs we currently have will be posted out on Friday this week by Australia Post. We will not be sharpening after Friday until we return to work in January.
Orders received online during this time will be processed and completed after 14 Jan 2026. Feel free to use DISCOUNT SHIPPING - $10.00 FLAT RATE EXPRESS MAIL - if you choose to order during this time. This means your order will be shipped by Express post once we are back at work.
Thank you for your understanding whilst we recharge and take a well-earned break.

CHRISTMAS/NEW YEAR CLOSURE DATES
Hi Everyone,
The following info has been dicated as always by Australia Post's advice on Christmas Mailing.
They've announced the final day for Express Post to arrive prior to Christmas is 19th December.
Previous experience means that the true final day for posting would be more accurately, Friday 12 December.
With this in mind, we will be closing from:
Friday 12 December 2025 to Tuesday 13 January 2026 for all sharpening and servicing.
This allows us to wind up our jobs on hand and get them in the mail with enough time to hopefully (🤞) beat the worst of the craziness.
Last Day for Scissor Cellar Orders will be:
Friday 12 December to allow for orders to arrive prior to Christmas.
Normal sharpening/servicing and scissor order processing will resume Wednesday 14 January 2026.
**Please do NOT post anything to us from 8 December onwards as we are unlikely to get it sharpened or serviced and returned prior to Christmas and it will remain here unattended until we resume work in the New Year.
Also, please be aware that Australia Post issues do arise at this time of year that are out of everyone's control.
We hope you all get the time off you need to relax and recharge as well.

SHARPENING NEWS
Hi Everyone,
To all our valued sharpening customers,
please read the following:

Turnaround Time: Currently 2.5 to 3 weeks due to the impact of floods and multiple public holidays and volume of work on hand. We will let you all know if that changes.

Work Process: Jobs are logged and placed in a queue in the order they arrive. Please be aware there may be a difference between the day/date Auspost says your items are "delivered" and the day/date that we actually receive them.

Urgent Jobs: We do have a system for prioritising some work, but the urgent job queue has also been larger than normal.

Communications: Please always feel welcome to reach out and ask regarding the status of your work or if we've received your items. We currently do not have the manpower or time to respond to everyone when their jobs arrive. If we don't answer your query straight away, we WILL get to you, we are just under the pump trying to address the backlog we have.

We value you all and give equal attention and commitment to providing excellent services to all your items. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Hi Everyone
Postal services are interrupted and so are our services due to local flooding from the current weather event.
We will not be open tomorrow for order processing or sharpening as a result.
We apologise and will resume services once the effects of the current weather system have eased and flood waters stop rising.

UPDATE
Our postal services are becoming limited as this weather event progresses.
We have worked hard to get as much mail out this morning as possible.
All current shop orders have shipped.
All sharpening jobs still on hand have been stored in a safe, secure, dry location.
Our services have temporarily halted today as we continue to prepare for the worst and hope for the best. We have shifted stock to a safe location as well and are making final preparations for the safety of our animals and ourselves.
Our local post office is now closed for the day.
If you have recently posted items to us, they may remain in the Australia Post system until they can be safely delivered to us. Please keep an eye on your tracking and contact Australia Post if you are concerned.
If you are an existing sharpening customer planning to send items, please wait until this weather event and it's potential effects have eased.
As soon as we resume services and order processing, we will let you know.
We are beginning to get flooding alerts for the Wilsons River, to the north of us. Flooding from this event may not occur for us until next week as the water in the large Clarence River catchment moves down towards the coast. This may be made worse by tidal surges coming up-river.
Thank you to everyone for your kind wishes for our safety. Rest-assured we are as well prepared as we can be and will not be taking risks.

TEMPORARY BOOK CLOSURE - NEW SHARPENING CUSTOMERS ONLY
Hi Everyone,
We are closing our books to new sharpening customers temporarily due to high volume of work on hand and increased wait times.
Please watch this space for updates on when our books open again. At the moment, we are closed to new customers until further notice.
*If you are an EXISTING sharpening customer, it's fine to send your gear to us. Thank you for your understanding while we manage our current workload.

Important info - SHARPENING AND ORDERS

We will be away over the Christmas period on a much-needed break.

Reminder - We are now closed for sharpening.

Any Scissor Cellar Orders received now, will be shipped mid January 2025.

Our return to work date for next year has been changed. We will be back on deck mid to late January - date to be announced.

CHRISTMAS CLOSURE DATES 🎄🎄
NEXT WEEK IS OUR LAST WEEK OF SHARPENING

Friday 6 December 2024 - jobs received AFTER this date will not be completed and returned until the New Year as we are away on holidays. **Please do NOT send work after 6 Dec.

Friday 13 December 2024 - last day for mailing jobs in order to have them arrive prior to Christmas/New Year.

From Monday 9 to Friday 13 Dec we will be finalising jobs on hand but NOT doing new work. This will enable us to get jobs completed and sent by the cut-off date with Aus Post.

We will resume sharpening Monday 13 January 2025.

If you have not sent work to us, please either do so asap or consider leaving it until January. We do not want to disappoint and currently have a lot of work on hand. Consider using Express Post as well, because Parcel Post can take 7 days to reach us.
Thank you to all our valued Customers for trusting Bob with your gear. He loves his work and looking after you all and hopes it shows.
