That "purchase" you didn't make? It could be a scam. 🚨

Scammers are sending fake emails, texts and app notifications claiming you've bought something expensive – like electronics, flights, anti virus software or cryptocurrency.

The message urges you to call a phone number to cancel the payment before it's "too late". But that's exactly what the scammer wants.

Before you act:
🔍 Check the transaction by logging into your account or contacting the company using official contact details.
📞 Never call the phone number provided in the message.
🚩 Be suspicious of urgent messages demanding immediate action.
💻 Research independently before responding.

If something doesn't feel right, stop and check. Taking a moment could save you from losing your money or sharing personal information.

From Tasmania's West Coast to Parliament House in Canberra!

We’re proud to see the West Coast Financial Literacy Project gaining national attention through the inaugural Parliamentary Friends of Financial Capability event.

As a proud partner of the project, we’ve seen the difference that can be made when a community comes together with a shared goal of building financial capability and wellbeing.

The strong interest in the project is a wonderful reflection of the work being led by the West Coast community — bringing together collaboration, innovation and local knowledge to create meaningful change.

Congratulations to Nicole and everyone involved in this outstanding initiative.

Got a tax refund coming your way?

Before you spend it, think about what it could help you achieve next.

You could consider putting your tax refund into a savings account like our Save up account. This could help you build a buffer, get closer to a goal, or simply give you more options when life changes.

Learn more about Save up on our website.

Keen on crypto? Scammers are creating fake crypto trading websites and apps that look convincing. They may promise guaranteed returns, show fake profits in your account, and even let you withdraw a small amount to build trust. But when you try to withdraw more, your money is gone.

Before you invest:
🔍 Research the platform independently.
🚩 Be wary of guaranteed returns or "risk-free" investments.
💬 Don't trust investment advice from someone you've only met online or through social media.
🔐 Never feel pressured to invest quickly.

If something feels too good to be true, it probably is.
