My garden is slowly going to sleep for the winter months. That's what I tell my grandchildren. I just love the autumn colours that are around this time of the year. Names of plants under the pictures. The Pomegranate fruit is never eaten but left for the birds over the winter months.

I have several bird baths around the garden. Today I have up to 8 white-winged choughs deciding to bath together in one. A magpie was far from impressed.

About 5 years ago I divided my Scadoxus multifloras katherinae and has taken this long to flower again. I feel that I have either not fertiliser them enough or they just like to be more crowded in the pots. This year rewarded with 7 flowers.

This salvia seems to flower for most of the year., grows about 1m x 1m. It regularly has honeyeaters, bees and even a blue banded bee on it. I have about 15 pots of this plant if you are interested.

Red hot pokers, loved by honey-eaters. Once established are drought tolerant. If interested contact me as I have them flowering now.

Kate's Patch has a roadside stall of cottage garden plants, these plants can be seen growing in the garden.
Nothing is over $10.
On the stall this weekend are dwarf flag iris', aquilegia, purple buddleja, dwarf duetza, Ifafa lily, pacific coast iris.

The annual ladybird migration has started. This time they were in the flue that my husband had just rodded out before we can start our fire. They are now being removed to our garden.

A white flowering gum. It’s loved by bees, lorikeets and nectar feeding birds. Also looks good in a vase.

I was pe***ng out a sight for a new poly tunnel for my plants and had a couple of helpers. Actually, not overly that helpful but certainly entertaining to watch.

I thought this was just a plain succulent with not much interest. I was right about it being a succulent but the star flowers are interesting and it is called Orbea Variegata, commonly known as Carrion Flower or Starfish Cactus. Is from South Africa and can grow up to 50cm wide by 10cm high, with a slight off-meat smell to attract flies.
