These fabrics have been rust dyed, and the vintage laces match them beautifully. I even dug out my button collection.

I'm thrilled to share that my mixed-media piece "Fractured Phrases " has been accepted for inclusion in the taking place in Brisbane later this year. !!!

Recovered Futures is a curated art exhibition hosted by Richmond Fellowship Queensland that shares creative works by artists with lived experience of mental health recovery.

The exhibition creates space for personal stories, reflection, and dialogue through visual art, offering audiences an opportunity to engage with recovery as a lived, creative, and human experience.

I'm taking part in The Drawn Together artist exhibition, taking place in Brisbane on 23rd August, from 12 pm to 8 pm at Warehouse 25 in Milton, Brisbane

This is an exhibition with a difference.

Hundreds of artist have contributed a "body" - divided into head, torso, and legs. These will be individually displayed so visitors can mix and match the interchangeable pieces into unique triptych combinations.

It's sure to be a fun experience where the viewer is encouraged to interact with the pieces and create unique figures from hundreds of heads, torsos and legs created by different artists in their own style 🦵 🧑‍🦲🦾

These layouts were created inside an altered child’s board book, which makes them feel even more special to me.
I love giving old things a new story, and this little book became the perfect place to layer together found text, vintage lace, and treasured images, where they come together to create something new.
It's that mix of texture and history that I love most about working in mixed media.

Creating an altered board-book is a quick and easy activity. These books come in a range of sizes and are readilv available at op shops.
These little ones make cute pieces that are easily decorated with some ephemera and quotes.
A great way to use up all those tiny scraps.
