Poor Relieve had its feelings hurt this week.

A customer picked up our Magnesium Cream, Relieve and announced, right in front of the jar, "That smells disgusting!"

I couldn't help but laugh. Because to me, that's the smell of a cream doing exactly what it was designed to do.

Relieve was never formulated to smell like a department store body butter ( try my Aether Body Cream for that ). It was formulated around botanicals that have been valued for generations. Carrot Seed Oil, Coffee Oil, Ginger and Black Pepper ,Lavender, Lime and Bergamot make up the actives along with the magnesium.

Could I make it smell sweeter? Probably. But then I'd be changing the very formulation that so many of you keep coming back for.

With a 30% magnesium base, nourishing mango butter and over 10% active essential oils, every ingredient is there because it serves a purpose. The fragrance isn't something I've added to disguise the botanicals. It's the botanicals themselves.

That said, I also know everyone's nose is different.

So over the coming weeks, a handful of our wonderful customers will be testing a brand-new version featuring Arnica and Frankincense. The goal isn't to replace Relieve, but to explore another option that may appeal to those who prefer a different botanical profile while still staying true to our philosophy of function first.

Who knows... we may end up with two favourites instead of one.

Until then, I'll continue defending poor Relieve's honour. I still think she smells wonderful.

I am slowly gearing up to start readings after Beltane this year ( November Onwards ). Between now and then I am a bit rusty so i will be blowing the cobwebs out with regular social readings. This may be a 1 Card, 3 Card or even the 10 card spread....it may even be a cheeky Rune here and there. Social reads are more generic but I will also write my instinct so whoever needs to see it will understand. This one to me says You worked hard to become your authentic self and love who you are, don't forget there is a community out there that will care for you...you don't have to do it alone.

Public service announcement: Gravity remains undefeated. 😅

After my spectacular (and entirely unplanned) meeting with the ground the other day, my ankle wasn't exactly thrilled with me.

Thankfully, the wonderful Manda from Body Alchemy Clinic made time to pop into the shop and work her magic on it. While I won't be running any marathons anytime soon... that's mostly because I hate running. Unless I'm chasing an ice cream van. 🍦, the recovery has been much faster than expected.

The funny thing is, I only started seeing Manda because three different customers told me how amazing she was. Now, I don't generally like being told what to do... but when the Rule of Three kicks in, even I know better than to argue. So I went.

I'm very glad I listened.

I had no idea what Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy was at the time, but it has helped me enormously, and after this latest mishap it's made a real difference in speeding up the healing.

So thank you, Manda, for taking the time to look after this slightly battered, delightfully clumsy witch. I'm incredibly grateful.

One thing I will say... book ahead! Manda is one of those people everyone seems to discover eventually, which means she's wonderfully busy. Don't wait until you're hobbling around like I was before you make an appointment.

And finally, a little reminder to all of us. Inverell is full of incredible local businesses and practitioners doing amazing work. If we want them to still be here in five or ten years, we need to support them today.

Support local. Love local. Because if we don't, one day they simply won't be here.
