My heart is with the LGBTQIA+ community in Berlin and everyone whose Pride celebrations have been overshadowed by fear, hatred or violence.

Pride has always been more than a parade.

It is a celebration of love, authenticity and human rights to exist openly and safely.

No one should ever have to fear for their safety because of who they are or who they love.

Here in Tasmania, I am incredibly proud to stand alongside Equality Tasmania, the Tasmanian Greens, Ella Haddad MP and so many passionate advocates who continue working towards ending conversion practices in our state.

The fight for equality is about creating a community where every person feels safe, respected and valued for exactly who they are.

To everyone marching, advocating, supporting loved ones or simply finding the courage to be themselves... you are seen, you are valued and you belong. โค๏ธ๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€โšง๏ธ

My PRIDE Devil pictured below, available at Equality Tasmania to end conversion practices, all sales support their efforts.

The Colourful Lady - Life Transitions...

I started to paint the Colourful Lady after researching 'Life Transitions'.
I wanted to convey a visual image, of these challenging emotions as something profoundly beautiful. That everything we feel is worthy of expression.

Painted with love, to you, from your Offbeat Tassie Artist
Jess Jones

Today at Salamanca Market , between the friendly chats with visitors, I continued painting my newest piece, 'The Colourful Lady'...

Like many of my paintings, she started as a feeling that was difficult to put into words. I think I might be better expressing myself with a paintbrush than actually speaking...

The difficult seasons in our lives don't last, but they become part of something softer, stronger and more feminine.

Thank you to everyone who stopped to watch, asked questions and supported my art.

Art has always been my way of turning life's challenges into something colourful, hopeful and worth sharing. Sharing my art has been a way of sharing my joy and comforting others during difficult times as well.

๐Ÿ’œ Thank you for another wonderful Saturday, Salamanca.

After dropping Shane's Mum off at Hobart Airport I couldn't help but smile seeing the gift store shelves filled with the work of talented Tasmanian makers.

These products represent so much more than what's sitting on a shelf. They represent the early mornings, late nights, market weekends, self-doubt, excitement, endless packing, countless cups of coffee and the determination to keep creating even when it's tough!!

Seeing the beautiful creations from...
Ted & Tilly, Ted & Tilly โ‹† Polymerclay Jewelleryโ‹†
Bosa Art Co, Bosa Art Co
Myrtle & Me,
Red Parka, Red Parka
Taylor & Smith Distilling, Taylor and Smith Distilling Co

Proudly showcased at Hobart Airport...Congratulations to each of these incredible small local Tassie businesses.

You're representing Tasmania for visitors from around Australia and the world.

If you're travelling through Hobart Airport, take a few extra minutes to explore the gift stores. You might just discover your new favourite Tasmanian maker.
