Our shop is small but packs a punch 👊

As fast as donations come in they are heading back out the door!

We love keeping items in use! Raising funds by selling items to support our nominated charities is incredible but we believe it’s just as important to let some things go again for free.

This is how we reduce our waste and ensure our community has access to items they need without the financial pressure of needing to buy new.

A quick craft and some secret treasures found today!

One book with a damaged spine got a makeover and now sits proudly on top of our bookshelf. Simply folding pages in half on an angle alternatively creates this cool pattern ♻️

The second book was an absolute treasure filled vintage dream, heaps of paper cuts outs inside and had that perfect old book smell 🙌

This is my neighbourhood 😖
None of this is my rubbish but I am taking responsibility to get it cleaned up.
Tonight’s family walk turned into a Snap Send Solve mission!

Do you use the Snap Send Solve app?

These reports are off to City of Port Adelaide Enfield, we are always happy with the speed in which these are solved!

We had a big Saturday this week!
First a quick look at a couple of op shops down South:
New4U
Salvos
RSPCA
No bargains for us except a small notebook in New4U.
Then off to Aberfoyle Repair Cafe for a Local Thrift Project workshop. This time making snuffle mats and pet toys from unsellable textiles 🐾
The repair cafe operates every 2nd Saturday of the month 1-4pm at the Aberfoyle Community Centre and is a great chance to get your items repaired to keep them in use for longer! ♻️

We love a clothes swap or share! ♻️

This wonderful rack is at The Port Environment Centre and is full of a range of quality items.

I’ve scored myself a fantastic pair of vintage Rossi boots this week 😍

Do you have a free clothing rack near you?
Why not set one up!?
Unused corner in the office?
Community centre space?

This is a great way to keep clothing circulating without the need for it to even come to the op shop!

Ages ago my partner scored some retro ottomans from a shed clearance. We cleaned them up and the kids loved using them sitting on the floor. Over time we noticed shredded paper around the place. Seams had split and we found that inside they were stuffed with vintage newspapers 🗞️

Yesterday we had the opportunity have them repaired at Aberfoyle Repair Cafe!

My partner removed all the shredded paper and filled both our compost and green bin with the contents. Repairers then sewed up the split seam for us and we stuffed them full of synthetic textiles! One cushion used up 4kg of textiles ♻️

These beauties can stay in use a while longer now!
