We've had a run of milder days this week, with patchy rain drifting through and the air feeling a little less winter sharp. It's that in-between stretch where everything is damp, soft and quietly resetting.

Spring isn't far away now, only a few weeks to go and you can see gardens starting to respond. Colour is holding well, evergreens are pushing fresh tips and late winter favourites are still putting on a show.

This week's brought a real mix of weather. We received a dumping of rain followed by pockets of sunshine but with the crisp winter feel lingering in the air.
With only 4 weeks until Spring, it's a great time to refresh colour and get those late winter jobs sorted while the soil is workable.

There's no denying it, winter has truly arrived in Melbourne! We woke up to our very first proper frost of the season. The nursery was a crisp and icy wonderland this morning 🥶 ❄️

It's a great time to plant deciduous trees while they're resting in dormancy e.g. Japanese Maples, roses, fruit trees, Crepe Myrtles. There's also plenty of colour that can brighten your garden e.g. Pansy, Viola and Hellebore are stunning and thrive in the cold.

The weather's been a bit strange this week, mild days, north winds and high humidity but the week ahead is shaping into that proper cold, crisp winter.

All our bare rooted stock has arrived and it's the perfect time to plant while deciduous trees are in dormancy.

After a week of lighter rain and teasing showers, the nursery and gardens finally got the deep drink they've been waiting for with yesterday's and last night's down pour.
