Today we are going purple!

This year marks the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. As the world welcomed peace, thousands returned home to much fanfare, and their loved ones. Thousands more never made the journey home including the animals.
This year we are not only using the red poppy BUT we would like to highlight the purple poppy this year.

The purple poppy is often worn to remember animals that have been victims of war. Animals like horses, dogs and pigeons were often drafted into the war effort, and those that wear the purple poppy feel their service should be seen as equal to that of human service.

Ask someone this question today - RUOK, and the reply will be, I’m okay, really. Do we really think we have all been ourselves? We are in tough times and more then ever, we need to be talking and telling family or friends how we really feel. Many of us feel a strong need to help others, but if you’re struggling, as the airline safety videos tell us, you’ve really got to make sure you put your own oxygen mask on first. We are all in this together.
KEEP THE CONVERSATIONS GOING.
