🎄🎄🎄 With us closing tomorrow for our annual holidays, we thought we'd better jump on now and wish you all a very Merry Christmas and all the best for 2026! If the last 12 months are an example of how quickly time goes, then we better all hang on tight for the next 12 months! In saying that, we only have another 3 years and 2 days (as I type this) till we retire, but who is counting 😉
To our customers, suppliers, manufacturers, retailers, couriers and all who support our husband & wife business, we thank you very much. Owning a small business these days is difficult, but we appreciate all the support we receive. And we celebrated Rick's 30 years of business this year too, massive in this economic climate.
We will be closing at 3pm on Friday 19 December and back to work at 8.30am Thursday 22 January 2026 (if we don't win lotto between now and then 😄🤞)
Please stay safe over the festive season, enjoy time with your loved ones and appreciate all the little things life has to offer, we feel this has been reinforced more so this past few days. Once again, thank you all 🙏🤗

🎊🎉🎊🎉 30TH ANNIVERSARY 🎉🎊🎉🎊
7 August 1995 – 7 August 2025

Today marks 30 years since Rick commenced his business.
A lot has changed over these 30 years, as in appliances, but one thing that hasn't changed is the same friendly service and workmanship that Rick prides himself on. Also, to still be the original owner of the business he started on 7 August 1995 is very rare these days. There has been some days when he's thought there must be something easier to do, but he's stayed here and worked hard to build his business up.
Rick has had some of his customers from the first week of business, some even from when he worked for 10 years before for his then father in laws repair business. A lot of you are still customers and we appreciate your loyalty and friendship over these years and for supporting a locally owned business. His parents Bill and Beth, were a major help to keep the doors open for Rick when they could also, while he was out doing in house service work, when there was no one running the office for him. Lee-anne has been his longest employee, 16 1/2 years, it was only supposed to be until she found another job! 😄 Looks like she's not going anywhere soon 😜
Thank you to our customers, suppliers, manufacturers, couriers etc for being there for us, working with us and trusting us. Also our great neighbours in Oliver Avenue. Words can not express how much we appreciate it all.

It could not have been 12 months ago we were wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a happy 2024! But here we are again. I'm sure the years are getting shorter, let's hope that there are 12 months in 2025 because it certainly only feels like we've had 6 months this year.
Lots of changes for us this year with our business move, but finally things are all working well here for us in our new address. The next move is when we retire, which is only 4 years away, yes we are on the countdown 😁
To all of our wonderful customers, suppliers, stores, manufacturers, retailers, couriers etc, thank you for supporting our small business.
We will be closing at 4.30pm today Thursday 19 December and back to work at 8.30am Monday 20 January 2025.
Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and all the best for 2025, if we don't win lotto over our annual holiday break, we'll be back doing what we do to take us to the business's 30th anniversary year. 🥳

🏆🏆🏆 29th anniversary/birthday of Bostock's Appliance Repairs

Today we are celebrating 29 years of Rick owning and running a very successful business. This past 12 months has been trying, with having to move and the other hiccups along the way, but we are here, still as busy as ever, still with amazing customers who have supported us, some from the very beginning, some from when he worked for his then father in law before deciding to go out on his own. To still be the owner of this family business is a testament to his workmanship and business ethics, he treats his customers the way he would like to be treated. There are not that many local businesses still owned and run by the original owner, still using the same business name after all these years.
Thank you to our customers for your patience, loyalty, understanding and for supporting a locally owned business.

******* Yes we are still in business ***********
Contrary to some rumours going around, we ARE still in business, we ARE still operating, we STILL have the same phone number, we just have a different address! You can find us at 239 Oliver Avenue Goonellabah.
We did have a sign at the old address with our NEW address on it, but this was removed, so many people are turning up at the old place looking for us and believe we have shut shop! This, added to the phone problems we had, makes running a small locally owned business, very difficult. But thankfully we have some great people around who are spreading the word as to our new address, so our loyal customers and new customers, have found us.
We are still busy, as always, but very frustrating when customers can not find us.
We appreciate your patience and understanding but also for those who have spread the word as to where we are, thank you so much.

We're a little excited! We have our phones working properly, finally! We were holding our breath, crossing our fingers etc but it's now been a whole week and everything is operating as it should! And it only took 9 weeks! Ahhhhh big breath............. 😄

EDIT- We now have a diversion in place to our work mobile. Please call the office number, 66217716 and you will get us in work hours.

YET AGAIN, OUR PHONES ARE DOWN, AGAIN...................
If you are ringing our office number, the lovely phone providers who shall remain anonymous for now, but they start with T, have done an upgrade on our new system and have NOT diverted the phone line to our work mobile and have NOT had the office landline up and running for us by yesterday afternoon!
You will hear that the line has been disconnected. This has been so frustrating for the last 8 weeks with the difficulty of our phone lines.

We have no idea how long this situation will be continuing, please bear with us, we appreciate your patience and understanding, you have no idea of the frustration and stress this has put on us.

If you’ve been trying to call us or send an email, apologies, but we still don’t have any internet and limited phone service. We have been told by our provider that this ‘should’ be rectified by Monday April 15, but, well, we’ll see! So please bare with us, it is out of our control. We also can not take any eftpos payments at present to, so if coming to collect a repaired appliance or to purchase a part, please bring cash.
We really appreciate your patience as this is honestly testing our patience!

Today was our first day operating from 239 Oliver Avenue Goonellabah. We don’t have internet yet and we have limited phones, we appreciate everyone being patient during this time.
We really appreciate our awesome friends who gave us their time over the last week to help us move and also to another who made sure we ate. Thanks Todd (son) for removing and reinstalling our air conditioning and to the team (nephew) at Wrapt Signs for your help too, gotta love family.
Onwards and upwards in a great new spot.

They say change is as good as a holiday. Well, we are changing. Our physical address that is.
Rick started running his business from 1/8 Rifle Range Road East Lismore almost 28 years ago.
As of 4 April 2024, Bostock’s Appliance Repairs will be situated at 1/239 Oliver Avenue Goonellabah NSW 2480. Our PO Box will remain the same, as will our phone number.
This has been a trying time for us, we were not going to move this business into a flood zone, so trying to find a suitable premises has tested us.
We appreciate your patience and co operation during this time, moving 28 years of a business life is huge.
We sincerely appreciate the support from many of you knowing this was going to be happening, while we found the right premises to run this locally owned and founded business, started in August 1995 by Rick Bostock, still the proud owner.
We will be closed from 4.30pm Wednesday 27 March and back at the new address as of Thursday 4 April, hopefully phones and internet are in place for us.
We will not be able to undertake any service work during this time.
Signs are up at the new premises already, you won't be able to miss us! Thanks Wrapt Signs for your help as always with our business sign needs.
