Before, during and after a restoration of a 60s Hoyer archtop. Very vintage by any standards!

The pickups were wired to a lead coming out the f-hole so we wired them into a proper jack mounted in the side of the guitar.

The pickups/pickguard assembly was unique, made from shiny chrome-plated metal. It needed realigning and fastening properly.

The side had come unglued from the top so it needed some structural gluing.

A clean snd setup and it was back in playing condition 😃

Replacing the pickup system on a Cole Clark Fat Lady.

When a pickup goes bad on an acoustic guitar it’s a different situation to an electric guitar. Usually the problem is in the electronics, and the entire preamp system needs replacing.

Fortunately the value of the guitar made the repair worthwhile and an upgrade pickup system was available.

This was a fun and challenging job, replacing the pickups on a Made in Japan Fender Jazzmaster.

The Seymour Duncan P90s were a different shape to the original pickups so a custom pickguard had to be fabricated.

Pickup replacement on an Epiphone Masterbuilt acoustic.

The Fishman Infinity system doesn’t require a hole to be cut for the controls but has a volume and tone control inside the soundhole.
