Altar Cloth – Celtic Trinity, Green/Black

Altar cloths can be used in your favourite seasonal ceremonies or as more permanent use in the home. Great for wall hangings, divination readings or table cloths!

This Christian symbol in a Celtic design represents the Holy Trinity: Father, Son (Jesus) and Holy Spirit. This trinity is shaped by the symbol of the fish which in Greek spells the name of Jesus Christ. The three equal arcs express the union of the three and the unending woven symbol expresses the eternal nature of the Trinity. This symbol came into use after the Nicene Creed composed the doctrine of the Holy Trinity in 325 CE. The council declared that: “it is the Father who generates, the Son who is begotten, and the Holy Spirit who proceeds” and in their relations with one another, they are stated to be one in all, each is God, whole and entire! The Holy Trinity is a sacred Christian symbol expressing love, faith and insight.

Handcrafted cotton, made in India, hand wash only. Length: 118cm, width 75cm

Newgrange Necklace, Ancient Sites – Beige & Ochre

Newgrange is an ancient site in Donore, Boyne Valley, County Meath, Southern Ireland. This beautiful ceremonial mound is large with glowing white stones that are like a beacon on a sunny day. This highly carved Neolithic site (The New Stone Age) would have been the centre of spiritual life for many local tribes. It is though that the bones of the ancestors may have been placed there and revered at sacred times of the year. The site is around 5000 years old and is in very good condition because it was covered for hundreds of years. The architects knew the seasons and holy days and build the ceremonial chamber to align with the rising sun on the winter solstice – letting a stream of light into the inner chamber. This UNESCO World Heritage site is a monumental beauty in the green Irish countryside.

Cord length: 86cm, tie to desired length.

Celtic Keepsake/Jewellery Box
Celtic Irish Shamrock

The knots, plait-work or weaving are a stunning feature of Celtic spiritual artwork. The weaving patterns represent the tribal migrations, spiritual devotion and travels through life. The never-ending knot work shows the past, present and unknown future from birth to the migration of the soul. These beautiful designs have a European heritage in Celtic pagan and Christian culture – especially in Ireland, England, Wales, Scotland, France, Germany, Spain, Switzerland and Italy. The Irish Book of Kells and the Lindisfarne Gospels are great examples of Christian Celtic artistry.

The Shamrock (Gaelic) is the symbol of Ireland. A shamrock is a young clover with three leaves. This three leaf clover was used to by Saint Patrick to help people understand the holy trinity: Father, Son and Holy Ghost. The Shamrock was also used for medicinal purposes. The rule of three has ancient pagan origins – Triple goddesses were already a part of the Celtic, Roman and European world. The shamrock represents faith, hope and love!

Handmade and painted craft-wood box, made in Australia by Highland Handcrafts.
Size: 27x19cm and 10cm deep.

Irish Style Bunting, Green

Ireland is the land of green hills and ancient mystery’s. With so many ancient monuments set in beautiful wild places, no wonder it is often called the emerald Isle. When Ireland became Christian, with the effort of St Patrick, the clover was used to explain the Holy Trinity. St Patrick’s Day is a huge celebration of everything Irish and equally celebrated in Australia and America. It is a day of folk music, happiness and all things green. Use this decorative bunting to celebrate Irish/Celtic culture.

Length: 5 metres, 9 cotton flags sewn and moveable, (one sided) including bunting and cord. Each flag is 21x20cm. Printed fabric.

Ancient Realms is designed and handcrafted in Australia.

Samhain Festival, Full Moon Earrings, Pearl White

Samhain or Halloween, held in autumn is the last of the harvest festivals; mainly fruit and vegetables. Storage for winter is nearly done as the beautiful leaves of autumn fall. This festival is equally known for its remembrance of the ancestors and more recently departed. The veil between worlds is said to be thin on this night so it is easier to communicate with your ancestors. Candles are lit across the world; festivals like Day of the Dead and Halloween have become very popular. Samhain reminds us of the cycle of life, death and renewal. The Full moon is synonymous with all things Halloween; it is made to look extra spooky in many films. We almost expect every Samhain to have a full moon, but it only happens every 18 years. As the moon rises we are aware of its luminous glow that makes crops grow, tides move and heightens our emotions. Planting seeds and crops by certain moon phases is still considered important. The moon is subtle, hidden and secretive until the full moon lights the night sky. The Moon is Earths’s only natural satellite that has been constantly revered by the ancestors who prayed to the Moon Goddess/Gods. The moon has a calming and introspective effect on people, yet a full moon or dark moon may create a lively mood. Decorate your home, dress up, light your candles, play games and have some lollies for Trick or Treat. Create your feast using roast pumpkin, make an apple pie and drink apple cider.
