Echo dying on the weekend with my lady crew at was a huge success. A linen jumpsuit I was about to pass to a thrift store because it was highly 'beige' and if you know me, you know vanilla is not my first choice....but dang she was comfy so she gained a second life.
Goes perfectly with the current exhibition (behind me) by local artists Corinne Miller + Clare Wallace in their joint show 'Aligned' featuring some stunning echo dying silks. ❤️
Thanks for hosting ❣️ let's do another one

TIE + TRUST a recent installation at Manning Regional Art Gallery, invited the community to choose from an array of colourful fibres and add to the wall hanging making it one large community artwork.
FOR WHO? - all ages in the community, from tiny tots, to seniors. An inclusive project where everyone who visited the gallery was incouraged to take part over a 7 week period.
WHY? - to demonstrate how art is accessible to all, to explore what happens when we STOP and engage in an age old practice of knot tying, weaving and women's traditional art practices. When we contribute to a collaborative piece that is donated to a good cause afterwards we are trusting the process, trusting the outcome, we TIE and TRUST as we create.
MATERIALS - you see those banners which hang in the streets? You have some left over wool? Maybe a bright tablecloth that's seen better days? We utilise these things by ripping them into strips and weaving them together with wool, taking them out of landfill. Add some dowel to the top and create a wall hanging.
ARTIST : Renee Collocott and the community on Worimi and Biripi Country. Thanks everyone who worked with me on this one, it was a beautiful process x

A work in progress. This looked completely different the day i started. Just two colours - navy blue and white. I'm taking a different approach and just adding, throwing, brushing pouring and letting the surroundings im in RIGHT NOW enter the canvas.
It's different for me as im a designer and I like to be informed, prepared and have an understandomg of how it may turn out.

Times are changing and so is my art x

GRATEFUL for the mornings I wake up and feel ok physically, my body stretches beyond what it could 12 months ago, being tired and emotionally drained takes its toll on the physical body, GRATEFUL I am up and at em'.
THANKFUL for the nights I see a changing sky, a palm tree across the road frames a mountain. No bombs light it up, just stars, no screams of pain just squawking cockatoos.
HAPPY for memory. Motherhood turns a brain to mush for all the right reasons, but seldom do we appreciate them. I'm thankful my body grew, birthed and breast fed a human safely and we are here to tell that tale. Birth is amazing, there's incredible fear and uncertainty, but my most recent experience was like nothing I'll ever experience again, the good and the bad. My baby, my home, my husband, my way, in his own time. PERFECTION in all the imperfections.
LUCKY for love, from our children who smother us to the point of irritation, friends who we miss but know they are there, your messages are what guide us through moments of doubt. LOVE from people who left us this year, we feel you on our skin and in our burning ears. LOVE is in a thank you, a smile, an unconditional gesture that changes a life. LOVE from people we barely know but feel, we really feel.
PANTONE is the word we choose for 2024, what will grow and give life and blossom with colour? Previously underground getting nourished, feeling what runs by thy roots, what feeds us or makes us wither away. We will not shrink to suit anothers agenda, nor shine for anothers pleasure, but we will BLOSSOM with every colour from the book.
Raise a glass to the colourful book of PANTONE. As a blossoming pantone represents who I aspire to be, she holds all the colours, the messages, and meanings behind each step in order to live confidently with good feelings and strong relationships. Here we BLOSSOM.

Hi I'm Renee and this is my favourite corner of Plunge, its been a special place for many, but for me it's been a gateway to my creativity over the last few years.
It has allowed me to experiment with my ideas and put them to you - to come in and give feedback, watch you as your face lights up, have chats about how it makes you feel and hear you talk about a journey it reminds you of. This is why I make things, to tell stories, comment on the current climate and bring stories out of the memory bank for others.
Hanging installations from the cieling, making large paintings on timber of the local area, whipping up something that makes an impact for a special event. It's all been a blast.
I hope the musicians have enjoyed playing under the palms, in front of Cellito Beach and under lights. It's a been a joy to watch you x
All previous installations (including the hanging leaves) are for sale, DM me if you must have it.
All my love
Renee

It's been still here for a while. My little family has been through a rough few months and as strong as we are, we need to let go of some things so we keep afloat.
Blue Dust will have a BIG SALE. Art just needs to seen on people's walls and not in my studio hanging out. So next week everything needs to be SOLD. Original artworks, limted edition prints and one off designs I've been toying with.
There's new art to see on the gallery walls that won't be repeated, these are works I experimented with and are one off's. Please contact me if you would like to buy them, im offering them half price and will hang things each day this week.
Prints will be 40 - 60% off. Tuesday 28th February everything online will go on sale. GALLERY SALE starts tomorrow.
I want to thank you all for supporting me the last 4 years with this little dream I created, it's been a joy meeting you all. It brings me so much happiness to tell stories through art and have people understand and love it. No daily social media will happen going forward as it takes alot of time and energy, so join my mailing list on my website as this will be my main way of contacting you x
My energy will be focused on my family this year, my boys are top priority and as alot of you know our baby Cielito has been unwell quite often. He's the strongest happiest person I know though, just like his dad.
Your support is truly appreciated, if you want some art, just message me, stop in the gallery or shop online, SALE starts next Tues 28th Feb let's get all this art to you ###
All my ❤️
Renee
