A great day yesterday at the Sydney Royal Alpaca Show where Kyona Jackaroo was awarded the Supreme Huacaya Fleece Award. Jackaroo placed first in his white 18-24mth class, went on to win 18-24mth Champion Fleece, Best White in Fleece Show and then Supreme.

To top it off Jackaroo had the overall highest scoring fleece of the show, taking out the Dr Jim Watts Perpetual Trophy. Very proud of this young male, who has outstanding genetics, with his half brother also taking out the Supreme at Sydney Royal a few years back.

A great day at Bathurst Royal Show marshalling/volunteering for the halter classes. Even though we didn’t show animals today we were excited with our fleece results (judged last Tuesday), especially 3/4 Champions as well as Supreme Huacaya Fleece.

Kyona Freedom - 1st junior 6-12mths white and Champion Huacaya fleece 6-12mths fleece.
Malakai Go Getter - 1st 6-12mths grey fleece
Kyona Navya - 1st 6-12 mths fancy fleece
Kyona Madonna - 2nd 12-18 mths intermediate brown fleece
Kyona Fantasy - 1st 18-30 mths white fleece, Champion Haucaya fleece 18-30mths and SUPREME HUACAYA FLEECE
Kyona Strobes Legacy -1st light fawn 30-48mths fleece and Champion Huacaya fleece 30-48mths.

Couldn’t help myself to have a sneak peak at a few fleeces this morning after shearing yesterday. The light fawn fleece shots are our champion fleece winner Strobes Legacy’s third fleece. I love this boys density, finess and well nourished oily fleece. The brown fleeces are off two little weanlings. Love getting my hands on fleece after shearing.

Creativity has returned to Kyona. Using felted balls and barb wire made wreaths. Add some lovely artificial greenery. We have these wreaths with beautiful colours. They look great hanging in a special place in your home. They are $65 each plus postage.
