Hidden Marketplace has worn a few names over the years and had a few different owners.
Before it was Hidden Marketplace, it was Eco Soul.
Before that, it belonged to someone else again.
Like many creative spaces, it evolved through the people who poured their energy into it at different times. Each chapter was shaped by someone who cared deeply about what they were building.
As a physical collective, Hidden Marketplace closed its doors in 2025. That chapter has come to an end.
With the space now closed, I’ve been entrusted to continue sharing its story here — and where that spirit is carrying forward.
For those who don’t know me, my name is Sue. I was one of the stallholders within the space during its final year, bringing with me vintage, preloved and unique items, and a love for curating a space and making it feel beautiful and inviting.
I began at Hidden as a new stallholder and quickly fell in love with this work. It became a creative outlet — designing spaces that flowed, felt cohesive, and told a story.
Over time, I found myself wanting more space to create and style more freely. That led me to build my own larger stall at Market Fair in Ferntree Gully, where I could fully explore that direction — while still continuing my time in Belgrave.
In my time at Hidden Marketplace, I also stepped more deeply into merchandising - helping shape the layered, warm and welcoming look that many of you came to love.
What I noticed over time was that people didn’t just come for one thing.
They came for the mix.
The unusual finds.
The feeling of discovering something unexpected - in a space that felt calm, relaxed and a little like home.
That way of experiencing a space hasn’t disappeared. It’s something I’ve continued to carry forward - just in a different setting, which you may have already seen glimpses of here.
And quietly, I’ve also been working on something a little bigger behind the scenes.
I’ll share more about where that journey is unfolding very soon!
