Mei & her boys Sharing the Little Green Things we LοΏ½VE. A little family venture to share our love of handmade, ho Hi I'm Mei from The Hilltop Eyrie (previously Mei & Her Boys).

This venture initially started off as a hobby, creating miniature gardens and experimenting with propagation with our boys, and hence the name Mei & her Boys. We loved sharing our creations with friends and raising funds for charities. We continue to be fascinated with the beauty and varieties of cacti and succulents available in Australia. Overtime, our little hobby evolved to become The Hilltop

Eyrie, named after our home amongst the gumtrees and the beautiful native wildlife. Succulents are extremely hardy and forgiving, making it the perfect plant for beginners in gardening and they make wonderful gifts! I'd always loved the notion of giving a gift that keeps giving (and fascinates!). Sustainability is massively important to our family life including our little business. We consider our products, materials and packaging very carefully to minimise waste and be as sustainable as possible across our portfolio. The Hilltop Eyrie specialises in designing and styling with succulents and we love s

ini fairy gardens, kokedamas (moss balls), terracotta painted pots, terrariums, Plant-It-Yourself kits (PIY) and an occasional crafty thing or two. I also run workshops for organisations or private parties. Custom orders are welcomed. I hope these little pieces of nature will brighten up someone's day just as they do mine. To our followers, most of you have been with us for a long time, thank you for your support and love. Recently we have a brand new name but unfortunately FB hasn't been very helpful in allowing this name change to be reflected on our current FB page. Having inconsistent name with our Instagram account is confusing and hence we adapted to circumstances.

This is one of my favourite featuring echeveria Set-Oliver. πŸ’šπŸ’—πŸ’š Whilst she has delicate soft furry foliage, she's a tough cookie so resilient to the environment and almost always bounces back after any set back. So much is to be learnt by observing natureπŸŒŸπŸ’šπŸŒ΅

As Mother's Day is just around the corner, I'm going to post more than one a day
Here's one too pretty not to share imho. This was an old archived photo I recently stumbled upon, it must have been taken in summer or warmer months as it's rosettes were closely held, like a bouquet of (green) roses! 🌹🌹🌹

Today I received the sweetest early Mother's Day pressie from my middle baby. Oh well, he said "he's not so little anymore, he's a school kids now" πŸ‘¦.
But you'll always be my baby forever. I hope all mothers everywhere feels the love of their child/children regardless of whether there's a gift or not. We have always tried to teach our children the gift of time together is the best gift of all, but if that is tricky/somewhat impossible, PLANTs never Fails!!! *Hint hint* πŸ€£πŸ˜†πŸ˜‰

The wonderful world of moss is so captivating to watch, especially in a terrarium. Moss and succulents have completely different water and light requirements. However for those who have followed my account for awhile would have known my love for combining them in one vessel! Yep they will survive with the right care and love.. πŸ₯°πŸ’šβ€οΈ
