So I did start with a batch of quartz in my first run in my 35kg capacity vibrating tumbler, didn't quite go as good as I thought so changed to a batch of petrified wood and jasper from Lightning Ridge. First batch went great so a second batch has just been put in, at stage 1 at 80 grit for about 8 hours and will then go to stage 2. All should be in polish by the end of the week.

Started a batch of smoky quartz in the vibrating tumbler today, all up about 20 kilos doing their thing, it will be interesting to see how they will come out.

Our new lapidary shed is up and running, now to process the many tonnes of material I've accumulated. Machines include grinders, saws, faceting machine, ultrasonic drill, tumblers and numerous smaller tools to make life easier. Let the fun begin.

We will be there with our stall over the entire weekend so if you are passing through or have nothing on. Drop in.
