Been playing around with a tuna weave, done the same pattern 3 different ways. Which one is the best or which one would you choose to have on your rod. 1 is a single layer done with HT metallic. 2 is a 3 layer done with Fuji NOCP and 3 is a 3 layer done with HT metallic.

I have built this Shark rod of many colours with surplas gear I had laying around. 24KG with long straight #2 uni butt, leather fore grip ALPS HXN zircon guides with ALPS RX roller tip built on a compisite medium fast taper blank, custom bindings including tiger wrap. Suit 50 or 80W reel. Classy rod with premium finish.

Have some refurbished rods for sale, all have had a refurb and are in excelent condition. Some have some minor scratches on the reel seats and gimbles but otherwise really good. All have been rebound and coated all have quality guides in either new or as new condition.
These are for pickup only I am not offering postage so if your interstate you will need a friend down here to collect and post for you. (sorry not worth the effort for the price)

ROD 1: 30LB guts butt ugly stick short stroker 15KG 6'1" long with Fuji H-24 reel seat and graphite gimble, Alps S/S frame turbo SU zircon guides. Price $150

ROD 2 : Shimano Back bone Short stroker 10-15KG 6' long with G-24 graphite reel seat (SOME SCRATCHES) and plastic gimble, Amtac Titan SU guites with nanolite inserts and roller tip. Price $120

ROD 3 : Pflueger 24KG short stroker 5'7" long Fuji H-24 reel seat and graphite gimble Alps S/S frame SU zircon guides. Price $140

ROD 4 : Live Fibre Texalium built on ZWS65MJ blank 10-15KG 6'7" long, Leather fore grip Alps Tri reel seat and Alps alloy gimble. Alps S/S frame XN guides with zircon inserts. Price $185 SOLD

ROD 5 :Snyder Glas Flame wrap 10L 8-12KG 5'5" long, Alps wave alloy reel seat Alps alloy gimble Alps S/S XN guides with zircon inserts. Price $225 SOLD

Well folks regretfully an end of an era has finally come along for me. As of the 31st of December this year I will be closing down Custom off shore rods. I will complete the orders I have on the books over the next few weeks and also prepare all of my rod building gear for sale. The down turn in the industry along with competition from cheep imports leaves me with no other option. I have worked my butt of over the years trying to build quality rods at a fair price for my customers and would like to thank all of them for their support over the years but at the end of the day when the guy flipping burgers gets paid more than I do its time to go back to my trade and earn some real $.

Rod 2 10-20kg short stroker/ trolling rod built on a composite blank 5'6" in length and has 8" slick butt alloy reel seat and Fuji low rider guides. Blue based tiger wrap and premium finish $425

Rod 3 15-24 kg Jigging / Popper rod built and a graphite Samuri blank with an Alps alloy wave reel seat and Alps zircon XN guides. Premium finish $450 SOLD

Tried somthing different this time with the weave, normally we would use metallic thread as the design and black as the wrap thread but I decided to change it up and go the opposite way. Pretty happy with the result. 37KG stand up bent but game rod, ALPS RX Rollers #2 Pale gold bent butt, leather grip.
