What's in my Glass? 🥂NEW REVIEW🥂
This week in what's in my Glass we welcome our guest reviewer Claire from Whats_the_Wine' who takes us through a tasting overview of the newly released 2025 vintage of Viscosi Wines Red Hill Mornington Peninsula Pinot Noir.
One of the most fascinating things about Pinot Noir is
that it has earned the nickname “the heartbreak grape”
among winemakers. Its thin skins and sensitivity to
climate make it one of the most challenging grape
varieties to grow successfully, but when everything
comes together, it produces some of the world’s most
elegant and expressive wines.
On the nose, this Pinot Noir opens with inviting aromas
of red currant, raspberry and fresh cherry, layered with
delicate floral notes and a gentle touch of French oak.
The oak is beautifully integrated, adding subtle spice
and complexity without overpowering the vibrant fruit.
The palate is silky and refined, showcasing juicy cherry,
blood plum and ripe raspberry flavours wrapped in
fine, elegant tannins. Bright natural acidity keeps the
wine fresh and balanced, while the 12 months in
French oak contributes a smooth, lingering finish with
just the right amount of structure.
This is a wonderfully versatile food wine. Pair it with
roast chicken, lamb cutlets, mushroom risotto, grilled
salmon or a charcuterie board featuring goat’s cheese
and fresh pear for a combination that really lets the
wine shine.
This 2025 Pinot is available exclusively instore only at Wine Lovers Warehouse in Dromana and Hastings VIC. Don't miss your chance to try it in person with the Winemaker Joe Viscosi this Saturday 15th August at our Dromana outlet and next Saturday 22nd August at our Hastings outlet between 12pm - 3pm.
