There are dates that stay etched into us forever- not because we celebrate them, but because they mark the moment something finally shifted. Sometimes the universe closes a chapter in ways too strange, heavy, or haunting to fully explain. Certain winters carry away things we once feared would follow us forever. And while grief, anger, silence and relief can all exist in the same breath, there is something powerful about recognising when an old shadow no longer has a hold over your spirit.
Sometimes healing begins quietly.
Not with joy, but with the first full breath after years of survival mode.
Trauma leaves cords attached to us. Energetic ties woven through fear, guilt, hypervigilance, anger, and memory. And while therapy, support systems, and time are incredibly important, many people also find comfort in ritualistically reclaiming themselves. While we cannot erase the past, we can tell our body, mind, and spirit:
“You do not own me anymore”, and “you cannot hurt me anymore”.
🕯️ Some gentle ways to ritualistically cut ties with trauma:
• Write down the pain, fear, memories, or names you no longer wish to carry, then safely burn or bury the paper with intention.
• Take a cleansing bath or shower infused with herbs and salts, imagining the heaviness leaving your body.
• Rearrange your space. Open windows. Wash bedding. Remove objects connected to painful memories.
• Light a candle for yourself- not for the person who hurt you, but for the version of you that survived.
• Speak affirmations aloud, even if your voice shakes while saying them.
🎨 Colours often associated with healing and release:
🖤 Black: protection, banishing negativity, reclaiming power
🤍 White: cleansing, peace, renewal
🩵 Blue: emotional healing, calm, truthful communication
💚 Green: growth, heart healing, new beginnings
💜 Purple: spiritual strength and transformation
🌿 Herbs often used in healing rituals:
• Rosemary: protection and clearing stagnant energy
• Lavender: peace, sleep, nervous system support
• Mugwort: intuition and emotional processing
• Chamomile: comfort and gentleness (also a good substitute for those with lavender allergies)
• Rose: self-love and heart healing
• Eucalyptus: releasing heaviness and emotional tension
🔮 Crystals that can support this phase:

Healing is not linear. Some days it looks like strength. Some days it looks like resting. Some days it looks like simply surviving another night. All of it counts.
And if nobody has told you lately: you are allowed to outgrow survival mode. You are allowed to feel safe. You are allowed to rebuild yourself without guilt.
The Blue Wren Collective & Neek’s Nook is always open to those seeking healing energy, a safe space, or simply a moment of peace amongst the chaos. My DMs are also open to anyone navigating trauma, grief, recovery, or emotional heaviness. You do not have to carry everything alone.
May this next chapter be softer.
May your home feel safe again.
May your nervous system finally learn what peace feels like.
Happy Monday, friends. Be gentle with yourselves today 🩵🤎
